Chrissy,

I think many of us are willing to risk slower weight loss for the love of apples. Especially since apple season is so fleeting. I make sure to only have a total of 1 apple per week. Personally they don't trigger my cravings, just lucky, I guess.

Cheers!

sometimes a piece of fruit will keep you from eating something far worse. If you're craving something sweet 1/2 an apple may hit the spot.
But YMMV and in some people fructose induces cravings for more sweets.

Chrissy, if you get some Ketostix, you can test yourself with these fruits and get an ideas of which ones you can handle and which ones you can't. You're very wise to be cautious about them -- they've blown me out of the water too. I can handle apples though in small portions. Just sitting down and eating one straight off the tree, though, that's not something I would want to try doing on a regular basis. As a condiment for my other food, it seems to be just fine.

Again, try the ketostix. You might be shaving your carbs more closely than you need to.

Lots of good tips here!

I have been enjoying a half apple every few days lately...with peanut butter!! Yumm!! Plus the protein/fat of the PB lessens any insulin response!! Have not had any cravings either.

Just my perspective...I look at LC as my way of life, and I am learning to LIVE with it...which means I AM going to enjoy the fresh in-season fruits and veggies!! (Those are things the good doctor would not want us to deprive ourselves of for sure.) We just have to watch portion size, frequency and food combinations as we have all said. I'm just learning as I go...

Great posts! What I hear from you all is that this WOE is very individualized. What may work for one for the long-haul, may not work for the other. If we really are in it as a WOL, then we need to figure out how it works. For me, seasonal fruits and veggies shouldn't be bypassed completely but with an understanding of how I can enjoy them in limited quantities and still keep within my personal goals/limitations. Thanks for all the input! Blessings, Cindy
