| I saw that Sarah Ferguson interview too! It had me slapping my forehead as well. I bet that in 10-15 years, WW will have a low carb plan. It's got to be a matter of time before all this anecdotal and research evidence in favor of low carb catches on. WW won't want to be left in the dust. |

| This article is on their website - it's very interesting how it's only partial quotes from credible institutionsl. Also, they use the word "no carb diet" alot, then say how it's important have fruits, vegetables, and whole grains as carbs - things people on Atkins (or similar LC programs) are supposedly lacking. I've heard people at work use the term "NO carb diet" alot, quite frustrating. I feel like shouting in retort "I EAT GOOD CARBS!" *Sigh* oh well. That's why I like what I've read so far in Atkins For Life - the term "carb-controlled lifestyle" is used in lieu of "low carb diet." 194/180/125 (5'4) And I'm gonna make it this time! |

| When I was looking for Carb Smart, I found this excerpt from the Heinz company about their Smart Ones meals from Weight Watcher. He is the link to the entire article and an excerpt below. http://www.bradenton.com/mld/bradent...ss/6681329.htm "It's one of the things that people I think are most concerned about is the weakness of this (frozen food) business," Bivens said. "They've got a pretty big challenge ahead of them." Sales of Smart Ones,, frozen meals that were once one of the company's fastest growing brands, have flatlined largely due to the low-carb dieting craze The company will repackage some meals to call attention to the low-carb counts of some meals, and develop new low-carb Smart Ones products. ![]() Heinz shares rose 47 cents to close at $33.46 on the New York Stock Exchange. | I have been going to WW for over a year now. I actually went to two meetings this week to hear the information from two different leaders. At the meeting yesterday, I stood up for LC. I explained a little about Atkins (I do the Carbohydrate Addicts Diet). I explained what induction is, what OWL is supposed to be. I explained that if people stay on induction long-term, that they are not following Atkins properly. I also explained that boards like this one advise that LC-er drink at least a gallon of water a day (WW advises the 8 eight ounce glasses of water or other liquids). And, I was telling people, that of my 150 pound WL, 125 of it is from doing CAD. So, I tried.... But, WW did give out literature on how a person could have a lower-carb WOE or a higher carb WOE, depending on their personal choices. Yes, they did imply that the rapid WL on LC is from dehydration..... Ilse 380/304.6(WW)/229.5(current)/154 5'7" "It's kind of fun to do the impossible" Walt Disney |
