I have read on this forum about a few experiences of where you actually got pukesick (sorry, an old college "drinking" term) when you went off the LC diet for a day. I'm curious if that has happened to others. I BARELY went off my diet at Thanksgiving and did get pretty sick to my stomach that nightl Didn't throw up, but thought seriously about it. It's sort of like that pill you can take when you are an alcoholic that makes you sick if you drink. A whole new way to diet. I'm wondering, have many of you experienced this.

Hmmmm...Seriously, maybe one of us should invent it such a pill!

I have seen a number of people comment about how badly they felt from the effects of carb bloat and muse about why they ever go off plan. I am not aware of the result you are describing though I am sure that if you ate enough sugar and other carbs you could feel pretty sick if your body was not used to it.

Jody,
In answer to your question, carbs, especially sugar carbs that are often found in large amounts in a lot of traditional holiday foods(think Aunt Susie's fudge, cookies, cakes, pies, etc. )
can wreak havoc with your GI tract. I won't go into the science of it, but the *adverse carb reaction* can range from excess indigestion, reflux, bloating, hyper-activity of the lower GI tract(as in many visits to the BR), and yep...the old nausea and horrid taste in the mouth.
When I eat off plan, reflux and that fuzzy tongue feeling shows it's ugly self! Ick!

Getting back on track pronto and lots of water will usually help you recover quickly when a slip up occurs(whether intentional or accidental)

Keep up the good work...you're doing great!

If I eat way different than I'm accustomed to, I do feel like crapola for a while, yeah, and have heard many others say the same. It's enough to make me wonder how I used to function on the sugar-stream I kept flowing at all times.

I do! I had a big old slab of pumpkin pie with coolwhip 3 days after T-day. I hadn't had any junk in ages. Within 30 min I was sick as a dog and losing it. It really wasn't worth it!

Hi all,
I woke up and barfed Christmas night. Serves me right!! When I was on LC a couple of years ago, every once in awhile I'd make my homemade pizza and the next day I would be nauseated all day. The body is an amazing thing.
