I am going to pass on this recipe. I do not salmon or tuna either. Yuck!

Here is my version...
1 can mackerel, or a couple fresh mackerel.
Use mackerel as bait to catch a real fish.
-Salmon?
-Tuna?
-Striper?
-etc...
Grill the real fish outdoors on the BBQ, maybe with some of the seasonings listed.
Use the celery, peppers, and HB eggs as part of a salad.
Whip up a sugar free pudding or jello for dessert.
Now that sounds better to me.
ROFLMAO
Y'all are kidding right?
Rob
As long as you keep the fish and the pudding in different dishes, it would be OK, I guess

Jetdad--funny! But I'm with Jackie and Shortie--sounds like catfood. And even my cats won't eat mackerel.
On the whole, it doesn't sound too bad, if made with tuna or salmon. Didn't WW in the old days insist on mackerel for some reason?
I have a lifetime WW membership, dating back to the 70s. It wasn't fun. I cooked a lot, and it was all quasi-food. Wonder if my lifetime badge will still work at a meeting? I'd feel like a spy!

Mornin'!
I just had to jump in here when I saw the recipe using mackerel. My experience with mackerel hasn't been very good I'm afraid! Quite a few years ago now, I made "mackerel salad" (tuna salad), cause I heard where it could replace tuna, & was less expensive. So I made this sandwich out of mackerel, ate it, & a couple of hours later, was sick as a dog!!! I'll never forget that, let me tell you! Haven't ever touched mackerel again.
Just my 2 cents worth.
*gulp* ummm sounds like yucko to me....but then again I hate fish.....well I can eat tuna....but thats it...uuggg Blah!! Oh well to each his/her own I always say...LOL
Hope its good for those of you that like ewwwiiee Fish

Hey Everybody!! This is the funniest string I've read in ages! Whether you like mackerel or not, you have to admit it sure has snagged our attention and comments. Thanks so much for the laughs!

Could the ingredient have been ground CARDAMOM? This is a very common ingredient in Indian cooking, and it seems not-out-of-place with mustard, mace, and cayenne.
I had seen these recipe cards before. Some of them are very funny. I never considered the low-carb implications.
Now, where can you buy mackerel flakes? I don't think I've ever seen them. It isn't a type of fish food, is it? =)
