Yes, I read that last week. I find it disturbing.

They're rright that a healthy diet includes fish, chicken, veggies, and whole grains.

They're wrong saying that people who do low carb plans are avoiding these necessities.

Also, they're using the phrase "no carb" diets a lot which really makes me furious.

See how they play with the facts?

I don't understand how they can get away with saying people on Atkins do not eat veggies (Fergie). I eat more than I have in my lifetime! They don't seem to notice there is a progression in this WOE, that we don't eat only meat and butter forever. Geez!!

No body said big corporations play nice!

The weight loss industry is huge and highly competitive. I'm sure this is mainly an effort to avoid losing more clients to the various low carb eating plans.

Teelbee, I agree. We have to remember they are in it for the $$$$$.

Weight Watchers does work for lots of people and I am glad for them. My best friend is doing WW and has maintained her loss. I was not so fortunate. I choose to not go hungry so I gained it all back.

I just wish they would print the facts and let people decide for themselves !

Steph, the funny thing is-I am eating just about the same foods as I did on WW. Just more of them. Of course, I am not wasting carbs/calories on the low fat desserts. How can that be unhealthy??

I love how the girl in the picture is holding a glass of orange juice.

Couldn't they at least teach people that eating a whole orange is better than drinking a glass of sugar-added, fiber-subtracted juice?

That article played up ALL of the misconceptions of low-carb. They didn't miss a single one. It was so blatently inaccurate that I don't even know what to say.

I did WW and it helped me lose some weight. WW is good for some people but I am very disappointed in their greediness and underhandedness.

I agree with everyone here. This article made me furious. To say that the only way you can lose weight is to reduce your calorie count isn't true. I eat way more calories now than I did eating "low fat" and feel healthier, am not hungry, and suprise, I am losing weight which never happened when I ate low fat.
The misconceptions just drive me insane.

Now I understand that Mr Atkins is no longer with us, but is there any way his corporation can do something about the slander and Libel? Honestly WW is really being down right nasty and inflamatory. If nothing else, we ought to do a petition or something to tell WW to knock it off.

A lot of people nowadays seem to feel that if you just keep repeating the same obvious blatant lies with a straight face as if you really believe them, that many people will just go along with it. Politics, obesity, it seems like there's little difference anymore.
