When the weather is hot it is sooo easy for me to drink gallons of water a day....

Now that the weather is cold... I can barely choke down 36 oz in a day!

Is anybody else having this problem?

I was drinking a gallon and a half on average during the summer. Now I have to make a concerted effort to get in a gallon and some days i just don't get there. But I find if i drink a quart of water in the first half hour after I wake up, it's somehow easier to get more water in the rest of the day. Thanks for the remonder though, it's been an hour since my last glass at least.

It takes some getting used to, but hot tap water really isn't bad. I drink it on cold mornings with a little lemon, and actually like it. It might sound awful at first, but it's one of those things you can develop a taste for. It also seems to help warm things up throughout the body in the morning, if you get my drift.

Give it a try - as we all know, drinking lots of water is essential.

I have a 50 oz bottle that I work on during the work day...that way when I get home, I know I only have to drink 2 of the 33 oz I have there. Breaking it down makes it easier for me. And having it really cold helps, too.

Soo.... in other words just "do it" huh?

Do we really need that much water in colder weather? Hmmmm.....

If we're supposed to drink half our body weight in water daily (oz. though not lbs) then I should be putting away a WHOLE LOTTA water.)

I guess I better get some different reading material for the "office."

I drink my gallon in icy, cold water during the summer. In the winter I warm it up, so it's warmer than tepid (yech) and that seems to help me get it down. It warms me up, too, which is great!

A little cheat that I do is to add just a touch of Davinci Kaluhi Caffe SF Syrup to my warmed water. Then it has a slight coffee taste without the caffeine. I know we're supposed to drink pure water, but in the winter I'll take it any way I can get it.

Cheers!

"Just do it"--that's about right. I keep a couple of those 20 oz. bottles--formerly filled with "premium" drinking water--and just refill one or the other with tapwater or cold water from the drinking fountain every time I go to the bathroom, which is fairly often.

By the end of the day, I'm sure I've done this at least ten times. Maybe tomorrow I'll count!

Yes. I know it FEELS like we lose more water with the heat and any outdoor exercise we do in summer months through sweating, but when it's cold out and you can see your breath... what is it you think you're seeing? Yep! That's water you're losing there!

So, I know it's hard to do, but it really is important to get the water in, even in the colder months. Lemon helps. Weak tea helps. Fizzy water helps. Yes... just do it. It's so very healthy!

Good luck!

Sometimes getting the water down seems so much easier than other times, where it's downright horrible! To get the most water in, I fill a large glass and sip it throughout the day. I find that I drink more than adequate amounts that way, especially when it's room temperature.

I'll also add a few sprinkles of Crystal Light into a big glass of water just for flavor. It's very diluted tea, but it tastes different than plain ole' water. Seltzer mixed with a touch of Davinci SF syrup is a nice alternative as well.

Good luck!

As long as I keep a bottle of water on my desk, I will drink it (and refill it and drink it again!) all day. Kinda like mindlessly eating potato chips....only this is GOOD mindless activity!
