You would also subtract 12.75 grams of polydextrose, from what I can tell. (296/220/135) 04/01/03 The Downward Spiral Begins

It just seems kind of strange that the "Final Report" didn't include it in the analysis. I am always leery of data that is 'penciled in' at the bottom of the page. Anyway, I have been looking around and found on this site: http://www.wholefoods.com/healthinfo/polydextrose.html that says, "The FDA approved Polydextrose in 1981. The FDA requires that any serving of food that contains one-half ounce of polydextrose must be labeled with the following: "Sensitive individuals may experience a laxative effect from excessive consumption of this product." and "There is no evidence that polydextrose is carcinogenic or mutagenic, however, as with many fat replacement products, it may interfere with the absorption of certain essential nutrients and produce flatulence and diarrhea when consumed in high quantities." Sounds like regular sugar alcohols to me. I think I'll stick with Gram's Gourmet Granola with about 3g of carbs. Thanks for the information!

Just out of curiousity, wouldn't 1/2 ounce be something like 14 grams, thus not subject to such labeling? I'm learning as I go along, so feel free to throw information my way. (296/220/135) 04/01/03 The Downward Spiral Begins
