I have been occasionally indulging in the Atkins ice cream...and today I found Breyer's Low Carb Ice Cream at my grocery store and it tastes just like regular Breyer's ice cream. No funky after taste like the Atkins brand. Yummmmmm! I highly recommend it!

Say,
Is it expensive or around the same price as regular ice cream? Just wondering.

Thanks,

I found it at WalMart for $3.98, same price as other Breyer. We particularly liked the vanilla. We also found we can't have it in the house more often than every 6 months Because we can't stay out of it!! No portion control at my house

Thanks, that's excellent news. Seems to me that most LC products are priced higher than non LC.

I'm afraid of the lack of portion control when it comes to the Breyers myself. I like the Atkins Vanilla Ice Cream - and it helps that they come in pre-measured cups. I would be curious to try the Breyers, though. It may take some time to show up here in NY.

My Superfresh store is finally carrying it. They carry the LE CARB but that is almost as much for the pint as the Breyers is for the half gallon. Chocolate is my fav

I found it in Shoprite in NY. It cost $3.99 on sale, regularly $4.49.

I have tried the chocolate and it is rich and creamy. DH even liked it and he is very picky about his ice cream. I wanted to try the vanilla but I was afraid of an aftertaste (LeCarb's vanilla had one). I may pick up a half gallon of vanilla this weekend as a treat.

I'm not usually a big fan of vanilla ice cream but that's what I bought and I think it's quite good. I didn't notice an aftertaste. It has little flecks of vanilla bean in it (at least I HOPE that's what those are! ) and I simply weigh my portion on my digital scales. That way I don't eyeball out a much larger portion than I should be eating!

I also like to top it with about a teaspoon of that chocolate TWIST stuff - sugarfree of course - makes a decent ice cream sundae!

Here's a suggestion save the atkins containers and fill them with the breyers. I love the Breyers the texture and taste is great. I don't think it's expensive , but considering I can only get it at walmart I do spend more money on other stuff when I go there Lol !!

I live in a very small town and one of our 2 markets now carries the Breyer's Low Carb ice cream. I believe it's called Carb Smart. It is so-o-o-o good, I have trouble keeping my kids out of it. It was around $4.20 for the 1/2 gallon container. One scoop really satisfies my chocolate/sweet craving.

I love Breyers... I try not to keep sweets in the house but my bf isn't dieting and I have realized that I was being unfair. I bought some vanilla to keep in the houes. He loves it and I don't have to feel bad if I steal a taste or two every now and then.

Debby, the serving size is half a cup. I have strawberry and it has 10 g of carbs with 4 net carbs.

I bought some to support my local grocery in trying to get low carb businbess going. I bought strawberry and I am not impressed. I think it taste "grainy", not creamy. In a way I am glad that I am not crazy about it...that way I will not eat it by the gallon .

We aren't too big on ice cream around here but do have some of the Chocolate Breyers LC and it is really good. I didn't think it was too pricey (about the same as other breyers)

LC and feeling better every day!
