I saw them at Walmart on Sunday. They are in the fresh bread aisle. They are called Thomas' Carb Counting bagels. They come in White at 18 net carbs for a whole bagel and Whole Wheat for 16 net carbs.

Curiousity made me buy them, I got the whole wheat and they are good. I know I shouldn't be eating them now, but I thought 1 once in a while wouldn't hurt.

That's cool, at about half the carbs of a regular bagel. So a half a toasted bagel on an occasional Sunday morning becomes possible for me. (My prior rare bagel indulgence was 1/4 of the smallest Lender's frozen bagel for about 7.5 carbs.) Nice to know they're out there.

hmmm.... First Arnolds, then Thomas's. I think the "invisible hand" of the marketplace is working here.

I didn't realize the carb count on a bagel (from Fitday's calcs) was 47! So I thought this was a good deal. I had a whole one yesterday morning with 2 sausage patties and I was not hungry til lunchtime. It really helped hold me over.

I know I shouldn't be eating them since I've struggled with losing for so long but I was beginning to wonder these last few weeks if I was restricting my carbs too much. I have found myself by 5pm so exhausted that I needed a nap which I never do. I've been eating a bit more good carbs overall and I'm not exhausted at night anymore. Still tired at 9 or 10pm, but that's expected since I'm up at 5am and going all day at work.

Oh I'll probably find they will either make me gain or not lose anything, then I won't buy them anymore.

I am surprised at all the LC products coming out, eventually LC food items will be as easy to find as low fat/low cal items.

So far my Wally's hasn't started carrying any of the LC breads -- not yet any way! They do have the Blue Bunny products (yogurt and ice cream, for the kids mostly) and they have the Chef Choice bowls. They are also carrying the Carb Countdown milk. Oh, that was a nice treat!

I don't get out there very often -- it is a 30 minute drive -- but maybe by next time they'll start carrying the breads/tortillas. Wouldn't that be grand???

Blessings!

We've asked Walmart to start carrying the Chef's Choice bowls months ago and nothing. So I decided to write a letter to corporate, they forwarded it to the Walmart store, I received a call the same day from the manager!! He was very open to my suggestion to carry them and said he would work on it.

So maybe going on Walmart's website and asking if the store could carry a certain item would work.
