Researchers at Washington U. in St. Louis have been studying the effect of Atkins diet on Meniere's disease. This combined with low salt can reduce the fluid in the cochlea of the ear reducing vertigo. Go read. Its interesting.

A previous thread on the "Everything Else" forum "anyone heard of Meniere's disease" suggests that there is both interest and experience among contributors to this site.

To quote from the Wash. U. site "I requested input from readers of this page with Meniere's disease with regard to whether they had tried the Atkins (low carbohydrate) diet. If they had tried the diet, I wanted to know if it had influenced their Meniere's symptoms."

I think that this group might be very helpful in this research. We probably have the greatest concentration of low carbers anywhere.

Some of us or family members may even benefit from what is learned.

This sounds very useful. I remember posting to a previous thread about Meniere's.

Step up and check in, to help research, anyone who's had experience with this malady!

Wouldn't that be interesting if there were a correlation between lc and Meniere's disappearing? How cool would that be? could it be that simple? WOW. I have heard also that high fat/high protein diets can help greatly with epilepsy. I think this WOL helps with LOTS of maladies, more than we can imagine.
