I have been reading a lot of about Canfield's Diet Chocolate Fudge Soda lately but I can't find it around my area. I'm not really a chocoholic but it sure does sound good. Does anyone know where it can be purchased short of paying high shipping costs to get it on the internet? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! ladybug 24 248/196/somewhere between 140 & 170

When I did atkins 3 years ago I found it at albertsons only. They've closed since then so I can't find it either. you could ask your local store to stock it, or look for it on the net.

I used to only find it at Nob Hill, which is a local affiliate of Raley's markets. I don't get it any more though because I try to avoid aspartame whenever possible. Now I use seltzer water, DaVinci sugarfree chocolate syrup, and a splash of cream. I like that better anyway! Char Don't squat with yer spurs on!

They have it at my local Kroger. I hate the stuff. It sucks wind. My nine-year-old stepdaughter likes it, however. April 352 / 201 / 180 5'10", large frame, size 13 shoe www.geocities.com/aprilreinhardt2

I find it just about at all the large supermarkets, but, I agree with April. It's not that good. Teri

Any of the Da Vinci syrups with club soda and a dash of half and half are way better than the Canfield's Diet Fudge! Creamsicles (with orange syrup), chocolate-covered cherries (chocolate and cherry), chocolate rum-balls (chocolate and butter rum), endless possibilities abound! My husband and I are constantly trying new combinations to see what else is tasty. Amazon 289/253/180 6'1" amazon, large frame with too much padding, size 11 shoes, gonna get gorgeous!

A big thank you to everyone who has responded. I guess my next question would be...what kind of amounts are we talking about when we use the syrups with club soda? I'm NOT a cook and my experiments are not usuualy edible so I hate to fool around with expensive ingredients. I have been working on a hot chocolate using the new low carb milk, powdered cocoa, a dash of cream and chocolate and caramel syrup. Haven't got it exactly right yet but it's pretty good. The egg nog idea sounds great for this time of year but again...I need some exact measurements. Thanks to everyone for their help! ladybug 248/196/??Somewhere around 150

Ladybug, the answer is - it depends! LOL! Everyone's taste is so different - the best thing is start with maybe a couple teaspoons or a tablespoon, taste, add more if needed til it tastes good to YOU! I use the pump tops on all my DV syrups. I find 2 pumps = about a tablespoon. When I make my nightly Soy Slender cinnamon mochaccino (Cappuccino Soy Slender, good shake of cinnamon, DV Chocolate) I use 4 squirts, about 2 tablespoons, more or less. It lasts a long time! For sodas, it truly depends on what flavor - with root beer, I need about 6 squirts (around 3 tablespoons) to 12 oz. sparkling water - for a Cinnamon Apple, I use one squirt each Red Hot Cinnamon and Green Apple to 12 oz. So you gotta experiment to get it to taste the way you like - but it's sure fun getting there! Just start with LESS - you can ALWAYS add MORE! Char Don't squat with yer spurs on!

| We do the same thing - start with a TBS of syrup, then adjust as needed. Just ordered the eggnog and gingerbread flavors, along with more orange, chocolate, vanilla, cherry ... Gonna try making eggnog with half and half and low-carb milk. Now I need ideas to use the gingerbread flavor for! Hmm, maybe in almond cookies? | I have to agree with the masses on this one with the Davinci recommendation - there's so much you can do with these. I love the Eggnog mixed with Soy Slender, heated in the microwave with a cinnamon stick and some freshly grated nutmeg....This stuff is great! As for the sodas, I find them to be so much better than the chocolate soda that was mentioned. Club soda mixed with Creme De Menthe and Chocolate syrups give you the feeling that you just ate a Peppermint Patty candy. YUM! "The more I meet people, the more I love my dogs" 202/187 |
