My husband has been diagnosed as borderline diabetic--and this time, he has to take it seriously! Dr. says joining me on Atkins would be a fine idea. After cooking low-carb for me for an entire year, DH should definitely have the idea. But now--he MUST read DANDR from cover to cover. We're both going to do Induction beginning January 2--a start for him, and a refresher for me.

I can hardly wait to see his health and energy start improving. I just know he'll be amazed.

Happy and healthy 2004 to everyone!

Barb,
We are a living testamony of the fact that it does work. I had to go on it and my husband joined me a reverse compared to you two. My husband lost 33 lbs and me 13 so far. He is a different man. It does matter to read the book. I'm so excited about your news and looking forward to your post. My husband gets motivated by visiting this site and reading the success stories and seeing questions asked he would have ask. Keep us posted!

Ok Barb - How much did you bribe your Doctor? LOL!
It couldn't have worked out better for both of you if you had. This should make life a lot easier for you.

Actually, Rob, I did have a secret phone conversation with his doctor more than a year ago. It IS a conspiracy! But (begging your pardon) the male of the species can be resistant to good advice--especially advice requiring a change in lifestyle. We've just cranked up the "threat" factor. And the threat is real!

Hi, Barb.

I'm glad your DH is on the LC bandwagon. I have little doubt that he'll normalize his blood sugars in short order. I did, and have not had a problem since 1998.

You are both fortunate to have a supportive dr. and it will certainly be easier for you both to be eating the same foods.

Best of luck on your DH's start and your re-start!
