kmoore,
I haven't tried the Lean Cuisine low carb dinners, but I have tried the Chef's Choice Low carb dinners. And yes, they are okay to use infrequently. Just count your carbs
BTW... is that a net carb count on the Lean Cuisine or a total?...that seems a little high for one dinner.
Just my $.02

They had them to try at Costco the other day. I tried the Turkey w/veggies. Wasn't bad, just lacking a bit in flavor. The meals are low carb and low fat, so I'm not sure how long they will keep you satisfied.

They cost abt $ 2 a pop @ Costco.

Never give up! Never surrender!

Hmmm... I haven't seen these.

But, I'm wondering... Does it bother anyone else that a *Turkey and vegetable dinner* would have 13-16 carbs??? I mean, WHERE are the carbs?
Are they adding a lot of fillers or something?
Is there a dessert or something that is included in that total?
The net carb count seems really high for just meat and veggies...
If I make it to the store today I will try to find them.

Thanks Barb..nice to meetcha' to! LOL
Summer, the dinners I bought were Chef's Choice and I'm thinking the counts were a little lower, but I bet it's the tomato based sauce in some of them that boost the carb count on up there.

I'd be real careful with these...the Lean Cuisine packages only contain enough food to be considered a snack (around 120 calories), and 13-25 carbs for a snack is pretty high. They also contain at least 4 grams of sugar per entree. It's easy to make up your own pre-fab meals...freeze pre-cooked meat & veggies on a sturdy paper plate...nuke, add a salad, and dinner's on the table!

Sky, are you serious? 120 calories and 13+ carbs? Oh my, that's terrible. I was thinking 300-400 calories and even at that 15ish carbs is a bit high.

Thanks. I thought I was missing something and now I KNOW I'm not!

See? I knew something was wrong...

The red flags went up when you mentioned the carb count. Thanks, Sky; that makes a lot more sense now...
Oh, well.
I hate frozen, prepackaged food anyway. Too many years of doing Jenny Craig I guess.

So as not to be misleading, some of the lean cuisine "low-carb" entrees do have more than 120 calories, but they are still small (8 ounces), and proportionately higher in carbs. For example, the Honey Dijon Chicken entree is promoted as low carb....it has 190 cals, with 23 net grams carbs, 15 of which are sugar.

kmoore, I know you were only talking about having these once in a while, but they don't seem to have much going for them except convenience.

15 grams for an 8 ounce honey dijon chicken? That's horse****.

Jeez... learn to cook. It's your only defense.
