Yeah, I've heard benadryl praised before for sleeping.

I have one more secret weapon, but sadly, I can't share it with you.

I have a big old tomcat that likes to lay down on my chest with his whiskers in my face. It puts him in a state of total bliss. He's very warm. I lay down and put a pillow over my face to keep out any floating hairs and just relax. It's very good at knocking me out when I'm having trouble sleeping.

I haven't slept more than a full hour straight for as long as I can remember... then in mid Oct. I started getting up at 5:15am and going to the gym for an hour every weekday. Guess what? I've had a hard time seeing 10pm ever since, and talk about heavy deep sleep. I wish I would have done this a long time ago

Doc, smothering would put anyone to sleep,

Benedryl KNOCKS me OUT!!! I only need to take ONE since doing this WOL.

Before I had kids I would sleep like a rock. A bomb could go off and I wouldn't hear it. But when my daughter was born 10 years ago I was so afraid of not hearing her I kind of went the other side of the spectrum and have slept with one eye open for ten years. It got a bit worse with each following child (3 total. I'm done!)Now I have a really hard time falling asleep and someone whispering downstairs and I'm awake again.

I said all that to say this. When I know I don't have to get up to see about the kids i.e a weekend when DH is off, I do like April does, Tylonal PM...two of those bad boys with a soak in the tub (get out before they take effect) I sleep like a rock again!

Benedryl makes me ultra nervous. I get nervous-leg-syndrome. It's horrible!

It's the same with Nyquil - can't do it!
It's just not fair.

Doc - your secret weapon made me laugh - but hey, it does work!

I find a low-carb cocoa very helpful, too.

Never give up! Never surrender!

that PMS stuff premysn (no caffene) will work if benedryl makes you nervous but only take 1 unless you can get horizontal within 15 min cause it WILL knock you out, I've got no idea what is in it, but, it works on both women and men.

Anytime I can't sleep, I take a Benadryl (antihistamine) - it's mildly sedating and before I know it I'm off to la-la-land.

It's over the counter, but you might check with your MD before trying it if you're on other medications or have health problems....
