Hey everybody. I just wondering if anyone had ever had any trouble with stalling or anything by eating LC food. I've tried the Atkins and Sara Lee bread and have been working on a loaf for about a week and a half. Honestly, its kind of made me paranoid little I know that some products (ie, Atkins bars) will stall people, but I was just wondering if any other products that are labeled LC have stalled anyone else. I appreciate any thoughts!!

Sugar alcohols are the culprits in the bars and some other low carb products. They are notorious for stalling peopel, but not everyone. Used in moderation the low carb breads, tortillas etc don't stall most people. But I've heard of some low carbers being stalled by them. I use the Lc bread but if a i buy a loaf I have to watch myself with it. If i start eating 4 slices a day my weight loss slows. And when I use up the loaf I don't buy another one for a week. That;s just what I've found through trial and error works for me. YMMV

Whether it's LC or not, breads with any kind of wheat product in it is still going to have a wild glycemic impact. So........use with caution. Even if it's say......5 carbs, the whole wheat they use, if any, will still send your blood sugar levels soaring.

Barb's right; it's more than just the *carbs*.

Blood sugar response is extremely important in determining whether something will cause a stall or gain. It kind of irks me that the Atkins Brand kind of ignores this; the great Dr. A understood this relationship!
If the food causes an insulin response, you're going to experience cravings, a stall, or possibly a gain -- even if the carb amount is within *legal limits*.
So, I try to avoid those "convenience foods" that I know will do this to me...
But honestly, it is a YMMV (your mileage may vary) thing... what bothers me may not bother you at all. The only way to know for sure is by trial and error.
