Hello everyone

I posted earlier and don't know where it went so I'm going to try again!! I began this WOE back in July 2003. I did fairly well and dropped 34 pounds... and then Thanksgiving came along. I decided to just eat 'a little here and there' through the holidays and everything would be fine. Initially I held the gain to about 1 pound but since the New Year I'm plagued with this hand to mouth disease. It's really bad

I've gotten back into the gym although not as much as I used to but it's a start. I feel like I should go through detox again, but as I'm sure you know... that's very difficult.

So... I'm asking for your advice. Have any of you fallen off the wagon?? If so..., what did you do to get back on successfully?? I'm up about 4 pounds and I need to nip this now!!

Thank you so much for your continued support.
Karen

I think going through detox or induction is a good idea. Gets all the bad stuff out.
Make sure to check in here frequently....great motivation!

You'll have 4 lbs. off in no time, I'm sure!!

Karen, I gained 6 pounds over the holiday. I also suffered from the hand to mouth disease . On Monday, the 5th, I started eating induction level again. As of this morning I have loss all 6 pounds. I am going to continue eating induction through next week, so I can get rid of the sugar cravings.

I think you need to go on induction for a few days. You may not need to go as long as me. Also make sure you drink lots of water. That will really flush you out .

Congratulations on your weight loss so far. You are doing great!

I'm right there with ya... bad, bad, bad over the holidays.

I re-started induction on the 5th as well and already feel SO MUCH better (and am wondering why there was temptation to begin with... carbs = bloated, bad skin and feeling icky; LC = no bloat, great skin and feeling great. DUH!)

Anyway, I concur... re-induct. Even if it's only for a week. And drink, drink, drink that water!!! Flush your system. (And also be prepared with some Tylenol for the detox headache you'll get on day(s) 1, 2 and possibly 3).

Thank you to those of you who took time to respond I really appreciate the continued support that has been received here.

It just seems so difficult right now... I don't really know why! I've pulled out the book and am heading back into induction.

Thanks again

I didn't stray too far during the holidays. However, since Jan. 5, I've been on induction again to encourage my hubby, who is starting Atkins for the first time.

I've dropped 3-4 lbs. in the first week, taking me back to the weight I've posted in my sig, so I'm happy. I'd really be happy if this return to induction jump-started a further downward trend, all the way to goal. We'll see.

My body seems to be extremely happy at 140, no matter what I do!

Hi Pollyanna824,
I am new here and I am having the same problem as you are. I decided to just take Thanksgiving off...that carried through till well now! I have tried numerous times to start again, but it seems like I have lost my steam that I used to have! I do not know what to do. I am getting into my old ways . I have not gained any weight YET (knock on wood). But I know that it is in the near future. I like the postings of encouragment that everyone has written. Is there any advice for someone like me...who has tried atleast 6 times to get back on, but just can't seem to. Thanks!

You might want to give the Beginners Guide a read. You can find it at the top of the page, but here's a shortcut link: Beginner's Guide

Hope this Helps (HTH)

Thank you so much Barb. I needed to read the Beginner's Guide! I feel better after reading that, and I feel like I can get back on track!
