| Hi all, I need some suggestions for quick, portable, and easily eatable dinner suggestions. I start classes again next week (why I'm going back to college AGAIN, I will never know) and I work full time. So I have to go straight from work to class which doesn't get out until 9:40p.m. Obviously, the bars would be ideal here to act as my "dinner" on class night. But I don't want to sabatoge myself with those darn sugar alcohols - I'm already fighting a 4-week stall as it is. Any suggestions would be appreciated. |

| You could get some low carb tortillas and make some turkey/cheese/veggie wraps or Ham or roast beef. bring a baggie filled with salad stuff. If you get one of those mini coolers it will keep fine with one of those freezer ice packs. add a hard boiled egg or 2 for a quick snack and you won't miss the bars. Rob 310/234.5/180 Me, a skeptic? I trust you have proof. |

| Thanks Rob, that will probably work. I actually do have some of the low-carb tortilla. They are in my freezer....just forgot I had them....doh! |

Do you have access to a fridge or maicrowave? I take chicken salads, left-over stuff like drumsticks, quiche, etc. I also always take a snack to have midway through my evening class, usually some nuts or string cheese. | BRING YOUR LUNCH AND DINNER! That's all I can say. The more you "plan ahead" the easier it'll be to avoid the vending machine. I pack tunafish in a container and some low carb bread for lunch, and sometimes I add in some pepperoni, nuts, bacon, chicken...you get the idea. A cooler will keep it fresh throughout the day. I've learned with this WOL, you need to plan out meals in advance, however that really helps you stay on track. You won't be so tempted to go through the McD's drive through if you spent your time and energy packing a healthy meal. 180pg/170/145/140 Size 12/8/? 5'7" |

| I love my little insulated cooler - I pack my lunch every day to take to work! On the weekends I cut up celery and jicama into stix, then portion it into baggies so I can just grab one and toss it in my lunch cooler. Then I make my lunch the night before using those plastic Ziploc or Glad containers. I take leftovers, or mix tuna or chicken or egg salad. Sometimes I use one of those tortillas and fill it with scrambled eggs, shredded cheese, and a strip of bacon. Really good, especially if you can reheat it in a microwave, but good cold too! And when all else fails, I drink an Atkins Chocolate Royale shake - no sugar alcohols and they amazingly hold me for several hours! They're also good heated in a mug in the microwave. If you have to go from morning til after work, invest in one of those "blue ice" packs - I keep a couple in the freezer at all times. They will keep your food fresh in the insulated cooler all day! | Thanks all for the suggestions. Hillbeans, yeah, I do pack my lunch currently (for work). I was just trying to figure out some ideas for things I could pack for dinner (which will fall during class - so crunchy celery probably not a good idea - professor wouldn't like me very much ). Like the pepperoni idea, and of course nuts. I avoid the vending machines naturally....I just don't carry any money....lol, that takes care of any "temptations" I may have. On a side note...$140 for campus parking??? That's highway robbery. Geez. |
