I am just wondering if anyone has read this book yet. I was talking to a friend of mine yesterday who is on Induction...and I told her that low carb bread just sounded so good, and it was too bad we coudln't have it on Induction...(I was staring at the low carb bagels when I said this to her!) and she said, 'oh, yes, you can. But it can only be one slice a day of low carb bread.' She said it was in the newest book, Atkins Essentials. She is bringing it to me tomorrow to read but does anyone else know anything about this? Thanks!

I saw it once and looked through it. It seemed to be an abridged version of DANDR. It was NOT written by Dr. Atkins. If it says that, then I truly worry. Everyone knows that the Atkins food products were done separately from his practice. They might be changing Dr. Atkins rules just to sell more of those low carb foods.

I really hope I am wrong, and worrying over nothing.

Yeah. There's the Atkins Diet. And then there's the Atkins Nutritionals Inc. Diet. One works, one's a con job.

Dr. A. revised his plan several times in his life but no one else should do that unless definitive studies contradict something in DR. A's work.

Avoid Atkins Essentials! I have had several people come into chat claiming that this books says they can have this product or that product because it's in this book. Personally I would recommend Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution over the new book very emphatically.

The original point Atkins was making was that people could eat simply and lose weight. Unfortunately the marketing folks haven't had an easy time of making steak and veggies a high profit margin item, hence you get things like "Atkins Essentials" and Endulge bars...
