I just sat down to lunch (okay late lunch) and cracked open a Diet Rite. I noticed at the top of the can it has a red circle that says Zero Carbs (which I knew anyway). I found it funny they were putting it on the can though.

I know a lot of peeps that like Diet Rite in all the differnt flavors, no caffeine, of course no carbs, and sweetened w/Splenda! It is a winner for Diet Sodas.

Ah, I wish those other Diet Rite flavors would reach Southern California. It's strange that they haven't already.

Doc,

we are in the same boat! I live in Salt Lake City, UT.
I have a hard enough time to just find the coke version of Diet Rite. I know of only TWO stores that carry the brand.
In one ot the stores I can get the other flavors, but it's rather pricey. The other store is a big grocery store called Fred Meyer. I requested months ago that they start carrying the other flavors. Half of the time I can't buy the Diet Rite coke there - so it must be selling!

I really like "Cascadia". It is sweetened with Splenda. But it does have 4 carbs per 1 liter bottle, since it has a little juice in it. But the flavor is worth the carbs. It's carbonated and sure hits the spot now and then.
Maybe you can find it in S California.

Never give up! Never surrender!

Katrin,

that is werid to hear that Diet Rite is expensive where you are, because here it is dirt cheap....like 75 cents for a 20oz bottle at the gas station!! Hope we can pass the savings on to you!!

The only store I've found it at is Stater Brothers. That's good, though, because it's one of the few groceries not on strike right now.

It's cheaper than Diet Coke. I buy both of them, though, because they taste so different they provide a nice change of pace.

this just amazes me that the flavored Diet Rite is carried by all grocers nation wide. Here in MN, we have always had all 4 or so of the flavors, ever since I can remember!

Yeah...

You know, it's weird... Twenty years ago, there were FAR more varieties of diet soda for sale than there are now. With all the low-carb madness that's going on right now, you would think that diet sodas would start making a bigger comeback!

I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop on that one... Heheh...

I'm in the same boat. The only Diet Rite that I can get is the cola flavor. I like that but sometimes it would be nice to have some different flavor options.

the only thing that I don't like about the other flavors, is that they seem TOO sweet now! I find myself diluting the beverage to make it less strong!

I have found Dietrite at Super Walmart. They have tangerine, white grape, peach, cola.

It's funny but I've lost my taste for soda almost completely. I have only had one glass since August. I had to stop buying the 2 liter bottles this past summer because i was tossing them in the trash 2/3 full after they went flat.
If anyone is in certain southern states Cheerwine has started expanding its distribution area. Last year they were available in only 5 states but have expanded into Northwest Louisiana and Eastern Texas as well as alabama and Virginia. It's a really tasty sort of black cherry tasting soft drink and it's made with Splenda.

I'm a big soda drinker, I'm on my second day of Atkins, I was drinking caffine free Diet Coke, but I am gonna switch to Diet Rite, I tried Diet Rite with the Splenda when they first came out with it and thought it was alot sweeter tasting than with Nutrasweet and there was a different aftertaste which I didn't like.

But the fruit flavor Diet Rite sodas tasted better, so I will try switching to them, as long as I get my water in!

Yeah, I have lost a lot of my taste for colas. And yes the other flavors seem way too sweet to me now. Diet Rite Cola is every where here and dirt cheap but the other flavors seem to come and go. The white grape seems to be available as much as the cola but the other flavors (tangerine and strawberry/kiwi) you see once in a blue moon (mostly at Super K-Mart).

About the only time I use them nowadays is to mix with a drink of JD (cola) or vodka (white grape).
