| Hi All, I've read through DANDR and done a search, but I can't seem to find recommended percentages for calories from fat/protein/carbs during OWL. I am tracking my foods on FitDay now, which gives caloric breakdowns by category. I thought I remembered reading recommendations for percentages, at least for fat. Can anyone point me in the right direction? (or tell me I just imagined it! )~Ashley 10/12/03 188/172/137 "If you always do what you always did, you'll always get what you always got" ~unknown |

| Atkins does not go by percent. Think about it this way: your fat and protein ratios have nothing to do with how many carbs you are taking in. In fact you are not even supposed to count protein or fat. Just stick to the carbohydrate levels recomended for OWL and you will be fine! Started on 9/20/03 235-->190; 150 goal |

| Mine tends to run about 4% carbs, 30% protein, and the rest fat. It varies. That's not a recommendation, it's just how it works for me. |

| You may find the answer at www.atkins.com I don't worry about this either. I think the fat percentage is somewhere around 60%, but I could be wrong. | I seem to remeber that CAD and Zone did something with percentages. ProteinPower too, maybe. It's been about 5 years since I read the books so I may not be right. For Atkins, just pay attention to your net carbs (total carbs - fiber) and you'll be fine. Follow DANDR on how to add good carbs back when you are moving to OWL. FitDay does lots of neat things with the numbers.... gotta remember that just because it can be counted, doesn't mean it COUNTS Ginger Life is NOT a dress rehearsal. 159/141.5/139->130 |
