Burger King announced this week that it was going low carb friendly with a low carb whopper...I just went and ordered one and it's great! I had a double whopper low=carb. I did add cheese to it though. You get everything but ketchup and mayo and of course, no bun. I thought it wouldn't have onions but mine did but very few. Total cost...$3.39 including tax. Kinda pricey for everyday, but boy was it good! I won't order a double next time!

Do they list a carb count?

Glad to see more low carb choices out there, just be aware of how many you're getting! I know the TGIFriday "Atkins" menu has some that have 17grams, too high for anyone not towards the end of their journey.

I checked out the BK website and most low carb options are 5 grams or less. Not bad, says I.

I went today with DS and had one. (At 17 months, he opted for the Chicken Tenders Kids Meal ).

It was really good - I was impressed. It came in a little plastic container with a knife and fork (so you can eat in a civilized manner). It doesn't come with ketchup (duh) or mayo (not sure why). It was good without the mayo, but I think I'd get some added next time. I had a side salad with it and it was plenty to eat. (Actually think they should offer this as a combo meal.)

Went to their website, and they say you can order any of their sandwiches without the bun. So far, it's the best attempt at accomodating the LC WOE in the fast food realm. (Still waiting to hear from Wendy's... they seem to do things well too.)

I didnt realize that they had started doing that until I went there for lunch today. I usually am use to ordering without the bun anyways and getting it in alittle box, but today it came in the cool bowl. I ordered the side salad too (not knowing that the burger is actually a salad also) WAY TOO MUCH FOOD!! I'm still so full and its almost 7pm. Trial and error I guess :-)

I want to know if you just order the bowl with the patties and lettuce, will they give you salad dressing for teh lettuce?

If not I will have to remember to bring a bottle of ranch dressing with me, I can't eat lettuce without Ranch dressing.

I just ordered a "low carb double whopper with cheese" and they seemed to know what it was...I think you'd have to ask for dressing though. The cheese was enough dressing for me!

We eat @ BK fairly often and for the last 2 years I have ordered a double whopper and just threw away the bun. Easy place for a quick meal. I once ordered a BK broiler without the bun and you would have thought that I ordered the moon. ,

I heard they were charging more for a "low carb burger" at burger king (they just started that here I think, I haven't eaten BK in awhile) Thats completely ridiculous since you are getting less "stuff". Is it more expensive than just buying a burger, the same, cheaper? I haven't tried it yet but I know the subway wraps are much to expensive.

Steph,
I think the low carb Woppers are the same price as the regular one. I agree, with less stuff it should be cheaper.

Mada, I think it comes without mayo, because BK's mayo has sugar in it. If you ask for the packet of mayo, they will give you Kraft light mayo. I'm not sure how many (if any) carbs are in that.
