Man, I just had some Atkins pancakes with some Brummel and Brown strawberry fruit spead, and some Atkins maple syrup, and a piece of summer sausage made with deer meat and boston butt. I thought, Man, this is the best deal I have ever run across! Pancakes and sausage and still losing weight! I noticed on the strawberry spread that it had 3gs carbs, and 2gs sugars per tbsp. Is that counted as 5 carbs? Thanks in advance you guys for helping a fat boy out with all these questions that are probably pretty repititious for yall.

Sounds like a yummy breakfast. I don't want to burst your bubble, but if you are still doing induction it sounds a little risky. I don't think you should use the bake mixes during induction at all and after inductin use them sparingly. It sounds like you are really committed to this and we are so glad you are here. ![]() Good luck all!! Seesko starting date 1/5/04 242/237/135 "What my mind can envision; my body can master!"

That would be 3 carbs total, 2 of them coming from sugars. I thought the atkins syrup to be like slightly flavored water. If you can handle the extra carbs, try Carys sugar free syrup. It has probably 5 times as many carbs, but ten times the flavor. It's good for a special treat. 261/226/215? Started Atkins on 6/12/03

ok, that's good that it's 3 total carbs. Are carbs from sugars worse than reg carbs, are is that just about the most stupid question ever? I went to the library to get the Atkins book, but they were all checked out. I know I could just buy it, but I have 2 boys, aged 13 and 17, so I'm trying to save up for mucho college money. Your right, the Atkins syrup is thin, it mixes up pretty good with some peanut butter though. Thanks again for your help

Yes, there are different type of carbs and sugar carbs are very bad. The carbs you should be eating should be good carbs from healthy veggies. If you cannot get the book, www.atkins.com has some good info. 261/226/215? Started Atkins on 6/12/03

razor: The whole concept of eating with a low carb regimen is to control your blood sugar levels. Ingesting sugar alcohols will not allow you that control. They make your insulin levels spike, and it's just like ingesting real sugar. Ditch the low carb products now before you start relying upon them. Eat foods only from their natural state, cook them yourself, eat nothing pre-packaged, pre-cooked, processed or pasturized, eat lots and lots of low glycemic vegetables, and drink your water. You'll be glad you did. Falling into the trap first thing with low carb products, and not losing weight, will have you screaming: "Low carb doesn't work!" and you'll really have no one to blame but yourself for eating all of that garbage. My two cents.... April 352/210/180 Down 142 pounds 30 to go...
