My wife and I attended her sisters wedding today and at the reception they had cakes cookies and brownies..oh my!!!!..we passed on them..someone asked why we didnt jump in and eat some and her sister replied..oh they are doing that atkins thingy...Some people are just unaware of the benefits of this way of eating that they just dont get it. I hope and pray that this will one day be treated as a normal way of life and not just a ..thingy.. I had so many compliments on my weight loss, but you can tell some people just cant grasp the concept of eating low carb....it works people!!! Thanks Danny

Wow, Danny! That is awesome!

Yes, sometimes it seems like we will always be an *oddity*, but I think the tides are turning...

Hey,

Mine was three different xmas parties last month. One was out of town, we went to a spanish restraunt in St. Augustine, FL in which a large buffet with mostly rice dishes was laid out. I was eyeing my kids nonbreaded chicken strips, but alais being a good father I chose not to steal their food. I did get the 20 questions from people at my table. I was about to duck out to see if I could sneak a bunless hamburger from any fastfood within walking distance when the last plate that came out was boiled pork. Someone from above was looking out for me that night! To beat all, the food was actually quite good. The best part of these type of gatherings are people who have not seen me in a year say "hey, you look great!"
So I guess my point is I'll ignore the comments, because probably in 5 years when I'm on maintenance, the same people will be asking how to get started because they have put on a "few" pounds.

Danny,

Two thumbs up for you and your high level of commitment to the superior LC WOE. I personally believe there is no such thing as willpower, only varying degrees of commitment!

Another thing I have discovered is that people are going to talk about you if you fail OR succeed! It just seems to be folk's nature. These folks knew you were on Atkins, some are watching just to see if you can resist! Had you indulged they would have told others (secretly) how they saw you eating the forbidden fruit! So why not let 'em go ahead and make their sarcastic remarks about the "Atkins thingy" and you are the one who goes home a winner!

Sometimes you will find folks who will help you when you're down, but very rarely will you find folks who will celebrate your success. Except at LCE ofcourse!

Have a great LC day,

Ron
