I just discovered a new treat although it might be old to some of you vets. Take 1 ounce of cream cheese and sprinkle splenda and cinnamon on top. Tastes just like a cheesecake with only about 2 carbs.

BTW, I had to run to catch my train today and was not even out of breath like I used to be.
I wonder why?

I discovered that also and it sure helps the sweet tooth. I spread it on a Wasa cracker after induction of course. A cup of tea and my cheesy cracker and I am set. Keep discovering new things. Oh! and so glad about being able to run to the train. That's what it's about!

LOL Barb me too. I made the mistake and bought the cheaper brand from Wal Mart last week and boy was that a mistake. With all the companies being mad at lcing causing profit losses, Philadelphia should be sending us thank you notes! I think my newly discovered treat is cream cheese, cream, and any kind of sf jello. Great!

LOL, Barb, I think the Philly cream cheese people should give us some sort of kick-back! Like you, Kameron, I tried another brand. Bleech!! Not the same at all; the Philly folks have it down pat.

I like to whip cream cheese with my mixer, add Splenda and vanilla, and stir in either chopped strawberries or blueberries. I keep this in a little plastic bowl in the fridge, and spread on a Wasa...mmmmmm.

What is a WASA?

I doubt it is an acronym for Women Against Skinny Airlinestewadesses.

Here is how NOT to make this treat!...

I didn't have any Splenda, so completely without thinking I used Stevia--bleckkkk!

After several spoonfuls, I was thinking...well this "sounded" good...after one more spoonful, I realized what I had done and why it was so bitter! During my grocery run today I think I'll pick up some more Splenda and try this the RIGHT way

@Joanna!!!

It could mean that, I guess, but...

Wasa crackers are little, crispy crackers with a high fiber content. You can find them in the grocery store; mine doesn't keep them with the regular crackers. They are stocked by the melba toast, or in the health food section. They are in health food stores, too.

I eat the FiberRye ones; they have 7 carbs per cracker, with 2 grams of fiber, net carbs 5 each. The ingredients are whole grain rye flour, wheat bran, sesame seeds, wheat germ, wheat fiber, and sea salt. That's it.

For after induction, and occasionally, they are great for cheese, nut butter, cream cheese concoctions, anything you would put on a cracker. I have one with strawberry cream cheese for a quick breakfast. I can carry it around with me and munch on it while I try to find my keys.

Ashley,

Straight stevia can be bitter. I use SteviaPlus (bless you, Sharron!), and it has almost no bitter aftertaste. Or I use SteviaPlus and Splenda together; that gives a nice, rounded sweetness to baked goods and other things.

Check the health food store for SteviaPlus, or the WisdomHerbs site, here:

Really great stuff.

LOL Joanna!!! You could find them at Meijer's, Cubs, Jewel, Dominick's, just about anywhere. I use these cracker's sparingly and when I have a yummy spread. Don't go nuts on them though.

OH by far, Stevia PLUS is better than straight Stevia. And yes I often mix it with Splenda.

Joanna, you can most likely find that at the health food store you and Ilse went to OR Whole Foods, Or Fruitful Yield if you have one of those in Rockford.

Barb Sweetie,

I actually found the crackers tonight at my grocery store. Whoohoooo! I will have to use them very sparingly though.
