I'm not Oprah. But the "cravings" thread got me to thinking...there are some things I *never* use to eat because of low fat dieting that I can have in abundance now! Here I would like to start a list of things we love that are low carb. Join in if you like!
My Favorite things
BACON and eggs (sounds simple, but who else was eating some fake egg product or eating no yolks?)
full fat salad dressing
nuts
cream cheese

and of course...you guys!

First of all, I would like to apologize to anyone who may have had a cheat induced by my cravings post. It was not my intent to do that, and I didn't mean to be sadistic. I was just looking at the stuff I was craving and thinking "how dumb to be craving this junk." So I thought I'd share.

Now, onto my new favorite foods (good idea HeatherRene)...

cream
cream cheese
any cheese
steak!
eggs
real butter

All things I deprived myself of in the name of "low fat" living. Did it get me any thinner? Nope.

Got to say, DH is estatic too... he grew up on a farm with all of those natural things, and really hated the low fat stuff I was cooking with. Atkins really suits him.

Now this is a great thread!

{{{hugs}}} to you, Mada. I did NOT mean to imply that you were *sadistic* for starting that other thread... we have ALL had thoughts like yours. I only meant that it was sadistic (or rather, masochistic) for us to sit around dwelling on those things.
I apologize if I hurt your feelings.

But I **do** think that THIS is a much healthier way to look at things!

I LOVE being able to eat cream cheese, and pecans, and steak with melted butter! I love being able to eat avocados and cheesy, veggie-stuffed omelets!
Oh, and I LOVE fresh strawberries with REAL, HOMEMADE, whipped cream!!! Yum!

I never got to eat any of those things before...
Why on earth would I go back to doughnuts???

Yep, Charski, real cream in my coffee!

And,
butter on my veggies
smoked gouda
real whipped cream and strawberries
almond butter
macadamia nuts
a juicy sirloin steak with garlic butter melting on top
Splenda-sweetened, whipped ricotta layered with fresh blueberries for breakfast

Hoo boy, time to make dinner!

Well I have never been on a diet in my life so I have nothing I didn't eat.
(That is why I am low carbing now... )

The only thing I didn't eat was veggies.

My favorite thing on the woe is salads...all kinds...with yummy dressings!

Cream, cream and cream.
Butter
Bacon
Steak (and more steak)
Cheese ("... never underestimate the power of ..." )
Chicken skin (crisp & juicy)
Eggs (alone and in everything)
Cream cheese (in everything or eaten on a spoon! )

Tons of veggies (but with GOOD STUFF - see above - all over 'em!)

and more. This is just a 5 second list!

Maggie,

A chance to talk about what I love that I either missed or felt like I was killing myself eating.

Heavy cream in my coffee
Whipped cream on my strawberries
Extra sharp cheddar cheese
Filet Minion with butter garlic sauce
hollandaise sauce (homemade)
Rich ranch dressing (none of this no fat stuff)
All of you

My favorite things are having the energy to be with my family, not having migraines any more (none for 3 years now!!!), and just generally being much healthier

Blessings!
