Last night i was invited to a focus group (marketing reaserch companies get paid to get peoples opinion on a new product before they put it out in the market). The product was horribe and usless, but more horrible was there snack selection; everything from m&m's, chocolate chip cookies, oreos and doritos and they kept asking me to have some to now be shy. I just wanted to say i'm not shy, i'm just smart you $#@^$#&, how dare you try to feed me that c_ _ _?

Anyway i was hungry (cuse i had cabbage soup all day) and with all those snacks in front and all around me i felt i couldn't be very objective. I can honestly say i was a waste to their $175. I did not eat any of it but when i got home i had a few slices of jicama, eventhough i'm trying not to eat after 6pm because they got me so hungry.

btw: the product for QuickBooks trying to charge extra money for customized invoicing.

Started 3/20/03 thru 9/2003
Restarted 1/2/04, this time i will finish what i started.

Did you tell them that you don't eat sugar anymore? I think the more vocal we all get, the more people will listen.

How frustrating for you. You did good!!!!

I agree Barb. When I started this wol I started off not telling anyone I was doing it. I didn't want to jinx myelf. Also, every time I tell people I am dieting it seemed that they watched me too closely. Anyway, I started changing how I eat and people started to notice. When someone trys to force something that is a no-no on me. I very politely say, "I have discovered that certain things are not good for my body, so I no longer eat them" If they continue to try to persuade me. I simply tell them that I would glad to give them a book to read that would make them understand why such a thing is bad for ones body. they usually back off then.

Good luck all!!

It might have been a perspective problem. Hard-core computer geeks tend to be heavy junk food addicts. That's one reason why Fry's Electronics has such a huge array of junk food.
