It is a very odd study, chicago. The more technical report can be found here: http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/467707

The editors at Medscape seemed to feel that there were some bias problems in this study.

As a medical person, what struck me about this study was that they deliberately chose subjects with impaired glucose tolerance, but then never reported anything about the effects of the various regimens on the blood glucose situations of the participants. Very weird study.

OH brother......did they do any follow ups as to whether the participants lowered their blood pressure, lipid levels, etc, etc, etc. Sure you can lose weight if you want to eat high carb and NO fat. But doing the no fat thing is showing some awful side-effects.

All I know is in the past I did lose weight eating High Carb Low Fat but I was always hungry, didn't feel good, was tired.

I would ride a stationary bike one hour a day and would sip brewers yeast in orange juice to try and get some energy. What I got was a yeast infection! (Thrush)

I'm losing weight on LC and High Fat and Feel Fantastickly Wonderful even though I am now a Diabetic whose blood sugar readings are normal.

I hate reading studies like this that will confuse someone who just doesn't know better yet.
