| I'm at my wits end. I started and stopped Atkins 3 times last year. I was able to stick with it for 6-8 weeks with net losses each time of 4-6 lbs. I recommited my self to this way of eating and I'm at that point again. I'm nine weeks in and I've been as low as 137.5, but this morning I'm back at 139.5 which means I've only lost 2.5 lbs. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. I'm drinking my water and exercising at least 3 times per week. Slow weight loss is bad enough, but gaining is the worst. I need some suggestions. Help!!! |

| loriskeeter, we don't know a lot about you, and there are countless reasons why people may not experience steady (let alone rapid) weight loss with Atkins. Here's my story. I'm 5'3, 57 years old. After losing 25 lbs. over six months or so, I've been at a steady weight of about 138-140 for seven months--all the while following a conscientious Atkins program, with daily exercise, and appropriate vita-nutrient supplements. Although I'd like to lose another ten pounds, I'm at a comfortable and healthy weight, and I will be happy if the low-carb lifestyle continues to be as satisfying and simple as it has been for over a year. In short, I'm not "on a diet" anymore. If you are fairly close to what you consider your goal weight, maybe you can try focusing more on lifestyle, and less on losing. Just a thought. Best wishes.
