What's up with that?!? I haven't lost any weight--the scale still says 284(ove a week now), there's nothing especially exciting happening right now, in fact my job is in one of it's "not-much-to-do" stages. But, I feel damn near euphoric!! Does lc-ing increase seratonin or something? I ain't mad, I'm just curious!
    WHOOPEE!!

p.s. and no, I'm not "on" anything...

Well for starters you live in beautiful Miami so that could be a reason here in Montreal it is a glacial 10 degrees.

But all kidding aside I use to suffer from depression and doctors tried to make me take Prozac, Paxil, ect ect. (Never took them
I really didn't think it was the solution. Since I stopped eating bread, pasta, rice, sugar ect. I have been REALLY happy. Even if I'm not losing, I'm still happy. I had tried telling my doctors that I thought I was addicted to carbs but nobody believed me!!!

I even tried telling my dietician that I thought I was addicted to carbs (and she's SUPPOSED to know about food) and she didn't believe me so she put me on an etheopian diet or a rabbit diet and gave me a prescription for Xenical. Yeah I lost 70 lbs. and got down to 120 lbs. but guess what... 2 years after stopping the Xenical and bird diet the weight was all back. (Gee sorry I started rambling and veered completely off track)

In conclusion I really think LCing affects your mood.

Well, yeah, it is beautiful this morning in Miami, so that could be some of it. But, you're right Sharron, it's more like a burst of energy. I feel like I could run around the block! Though, I'm stuck here at my desk, ah well...

I, too, had been depressed for several months, much of it due to the fact that I had reached 300lbs. and I didn't know what to do. It definitely affected my mood. Now, along with the energy boost, I feel so happy and in control. So, I guess I was addicted to carbs like you've said Gen. This is such a great feeling and one more reason to stick to this WOE and WOL!!

It's funny. I noticed that too after I started Lcing. Not that I was perpetually grouchy or anything, but I've noticed that little things that would have ticked me off before dont really bother me now. Plus, I do think I'm much happier My life is in a very good stage right now, so that might have something to do with it!!

Plus, how could we not be happy with such great people on this site! I feel like I know all of you personally!!

Yes, lc-ing definitely provides an energy and mood boost for a lot of people. Glad to hear you're feeling good.

For me, making a commitment to my own well-being, and starting out on the journey, has always had a euphoric effect all by itself. It's a kind of epiphany others have talked about--the sense of taking charge of your own destiny, with the clear vision, "I can do this!"

Added to the satisfying and simple process of learning and following Atkins, this is very empowering.

    Best wishes!
