eat before or after exercise????

"Ongoing Weight Loss" at Low Carb Diet Support: "hey you bunch of great people, I have been exercising for about 3 weeks straight and i usually eat after i go to the gym... Now does it matter if I eat before or after ...."

hey you bunch of great people, I have been exercising for about 3 weeks straight and i usually eat after i go to the gym... Now does it matter if I eat before or after I usually go at lunchtime 1 or 2 I am lucky that my place of work has a gym so all I need to do is go down 6 flights

good for you!! exercising is SO great, i just started up again 2 weeks ago. I'm actually wondering the same thing about when to do it too!!! But i just wanted to say keep up the good work!

Hi Yaz,

I've read somewhere (might have been on this site in the fitness section) that if you eat before exercising it should be an hour before or longer. You can eat after without a problem.

I don't eat right before exercising because I'm full and depending on what I do the pressure on my tummy doesn't feel exactly nice. I guess it all depends on what you do, too.

Depends on what time of day you workout. I also walk on my lunch break. I usually eat a small protein snack (slice of cheese, handful of nuts, spoon of no sugar peanut butter, ham and cheese rollup) and down a cup or water a few minutes before my exercise sessions. then I'll wait to have my lunch for an hour or two after finishing the walk.
