I'm on my 4th day of egg fasting (I'm doing it for 5 days) I've lost 5 lbs. since Monday! This has been a really good "pick me up" I'm 2 lbs away from the 160's! It hasn't been tasty to eat eggs three times a day for 4 days but it's been worth it!(I don't really like eggs very much and I hate hard boiled eggs) If I ever stall or just want a little boost I'll most definately do this again. It's actually pretty practicl too, I just make some hard boiled eggs the night before and then the next day I just grab my eggs and go to work. Has anybody else had any positive experience with egg fasting?

I usually like HB eggs, but for a change of pace - and almost a 'different' taste - I use an egg slicer for the little 'slices' of egg. Don't know why - but it is just different enough to feel like I am eating something new.

That's awesome and I'm very impressed! I'm thinking of doing a few days of an egg fast at some point in the next few weeks, before I move into OWL...it's even more impressive since you said you don't like eggs! Are you eating them just plain, or are you allowing a little mayo or something? And how many eggs do you eat a day? Are you starving, or ok most of the time?

Hello, this post was supposed to be encouraging and turned into 20 Questions. LOL.

I've mostly been eating hard boiled eggs which I find pretty repulsive so that helps me NOT want to eat. But I do put a teeny bit of mayo in them and eat deviled eggs at lunch, or scrambled with a bt of butter. I don't end up eating very many eggs throughout the day because like I said I don't like them too much. I don't get hungry at all. They're like little protein balls sitting in your stomach so it keeps me pretty satisfied. Eating eggs definetly doesn't trigger binges for me! I don't usually feel hungry while I'm in ketosis though.

That is wonderful results, Needa!

I think I am going to start the egg fast today. I have my official weigh in for the V day challenge tomorrow, but as of today, I haven't lost anymore weight since last week. I am already losing so amazingly s l o w that now NOT losing, is just to much! I hope the egg fast has good results for me too.

I doubt I could do it for longer than two days max, I like eggs, but I would be sick of them by the second day.

But I would be willing to try it sometime to get past any stalls I may hit.

I am starting the egg fast tomorrow. I am also starting an egg fast challenge. I'll be on it Thurs and Friday only, though...
I also hate HB eggs. If I eat them there will be mayo, and I'm thinking fried for brkfst and scrambled for dinner. WHAT VARIETY! hahaha!
See y'all there! and thanks for the info Needa. You are doing great!

I didn't give up my coffee this AM, but I won't drink anything else but water for the rest of the day. So far I have had 2 fried eggs in VCO. I am about to go peel my hard boiled eggs and make a egg salad for lunch. Just eggs and a bit of mayo, salt and pepper.

I hope this works, I wasn't showing ketosis yesterday even though I was a bit slack on my water.

Please be very careful about doing an egg or fat fast. According to Dr. Atkins, it is to be used only for those who aren't in ketosis by the end of the 2 week induction, to force the body into ketosis.

The warning posted on the Atkins site:
quote:
Caution: The Fat Fast is actually dangerous for anyone who is not metabolically resistant.

Thank you BrightLady -
I wanted clarification - and don't think I need/want this. I'm having a little stall, but am definitely showing in ketosis. So, I'll stick to what Ive been doing.
