Hi Everyone
Well I don't know whats wrong with my body but i sure wish someone would smack me really hard and force my body to shed some pounds here. Even ONE would be great. I've been losing and gaining the same 5 pounds for over a month. I exercise 4-5 times a week, eat all the "right" things, drink more water than a person should and still nothing. I have added more weight lifting and swimming to my workout could that be it? Muscle gain? Any suggestions? I was going to get desperate and fast for the next 30 days lol!

Tracy I vote for muscle gain. You are weight lifting......your building more lean muscle. Lean muscle weighs more. Have you taken measurements? Are your clothes fitting better? I've been weight lifting for 2 months now and have not lost a pound the whole time. My clothes are fitting fine, but the dang scale isn't moving. I'm not sweating it. It takes time. Just remember, more lean muscle= more fat burning. It will just take time for that to show up. Give it time.

LOL Lisa...lets hope that smack worked! Barb, yes clothes are fitting better, but i haven't taken my measurements either and I should another smack there. I noticed yesterday I felt thinner does that count??? LOL I'm going to stay off the scale for a couple of weeks and see how that goes. Its got to be the weight lifting since I do it 4 times a week. Thanks for the info & support!!

Heck, in my book, FEELING thinner counts. And since your clothes are fitting loser, that's awesome!!!! You're doing great, keep up the good work!!!!

Do you show ketones on test stips? If so, I wouldn't worry since that is your proof; your body is burning fat. I am in the same situation, I weight lift and I think that is affecting the scale. However, my test stips are not changing color (see my post "Please Help").

Best of Luck!

Thanks to Bright Lady for the reminder . I've been low carb (mostly for health and for acne/rosacea)since 10/1/03 and have lost 8 lbs since then. The scale has been stuck since I gained and lost the "Christmas 5" even though I do cardiovascular 5-7 x per week and weight training 3 x per week. My goal is another 10 lbs., so I think I will start induction again beginning tomorrow morning.

I'm so glad I picked this thread to read!!!! I am in the same boat with you Tracy. I've been going to the gym 4 days a week, doing the low carb weight training program, and the scale didn't move for a month! But I felt thinner today...and I finally lost a pound, a real pound, not an in-between maybe it's a pound, but a REAL POUND. YEAHHH ....LOL
I'm always in the pink, so I know it's working. I think PATIENCE is the key here. Let's not give up!!!!

Do I dare tell anyone I don't do the ketosis stix? I know I should, I just never have. Always judged it by my "goal clothes". I did lose 3 pounds I think, but I had a doctor appt this morning and I wanted to bang my head against the scale several time for lying cause the stupid thing insisted I gained back the 3 pounds I thought I lost. I am thinking that I need to up my cardio workout and see if that helps burn some of this fat or inches or just something. I love the weight lifting though cause I feel like the hulk afterwards lmao. Hang in there Lisa and email me if you want since we're in the same non sinking boat lol.

Thanks again for all the support guys, I truly appreciate it!

Yes, Barb, I believe low carbing has helped with my skin problems. My skin is clear for 3 weeks out of the month now and the redness has greatly diminished . Now I'm sure I've probably always had some type of grain sensitivity.

Tracy, your doc's scale probably isn't in sync with your home scale. I think docs' scales always weigh slightly higher than home scales.

K, I find that toatally fascinating. I am beginning to see a picture here. This goll-darn wheat is wreaking havoc on all kinds of body systems. Would that it were as simple as cutting out wheat that would CURE rosacea. And a lot of doctors don't have a clue, grrrrrr.

The only thing I can say is patience will have to be your virtue! I stalled out since the 3rd week of December and have been working out 4 days per week since January 1st. Finally, today, February 3rd, 4 pounds lost! 30 lbs. from goal but three numbers on the scale that I thought would never be imaginable! DH would have thought we won the lottery with the reaction I had this morning, keep it up, I promise you too will have a "scream fest"..
Stay Strong!

Wow Lori, that is truly encouraging! Thank you for sharing, because that is almost exactly where I'm at. I did lose that pound, but I didn't feel it was a major accomplishment. ( a couple of good bowel movements can do that LOL )I am not going to quit going the gym because I KNOW it's working. I'm wearing the same pants that I was wearing last year at this time (when I was 10 pounds lighter) and they fit BETTER now!! So I know my body is responding, it's just taking it's sweet time to let go of the POUNDAGE!!! Ugh! Tracy, let's keep in touch!! Feel free to message me...I could use a friend who's going through the same thing. It does get discouraging at times. But don't you feel soooo much better, and so much stronger since lifting the weights. I'm becoming addicted! And Lori, please keep us posted, you have given me a lot of hope And Barb...I've read a lot of your posts...I respect you for getting where you are today!!! You're a bright lady!
