I live in central Denver close to downtown. I've often thought it would be nice to have a support group to go to. I will say that my reasons for low-carbing are different than many on this board as I started it for reasons other than weight loss (although I have lost weight) and I don't follow any one plan in particular. That being said, I still struggle with a lot of the issues that many people on this board do regarding cravings, disapproval from well-meaning people, etc. You should of seen the reactions I got at my in-law's Thanksgiving dinner when I hauled out all my little containers of veggies because I knew the only two things on the table that I could eat would be the green beans and turkey. I also took my own slice of low-carb pumpkin pie. I was pretty low-key about it, so the raised eyebrows went away quickly.

This is not to say that I haven't had weight issues. I was overweight in high school and then lost the excess while in college (no car and had to walk everywhere) and then gained alot of weight after DH and I got married 10 years ago. Unfortunately, his sweet-tooth is worse than mine so we were indulging in way too many deserts. I should of realized what I was in for when I noticed that his cat got excited every time a fast food and Dairy Queen sack came through the door cause he knew what was in them. I was able to loose some of it but never could shake the last ten pounds until I started low-carbing.

Hey, me too. I live in the Cherry Creek area, only in a bungalow, not a 1.5 million dollar townhouse!!!

I really liked reading your story, thank you for sharing it with me. I decided to go back to low carb after losing 29lbs before I got pregnant. Then after my pregnancy I couldn't seem to get the weight off, so I decided to try again. It's easy when you're pregnant to eat what you want....
I have about 35lbs to lose, but I'm taking it in 10lb increments.

How about this snow? I couldn't make it down my street this morning!

I love those bungalows! Our house is a "working-class" Victorian and we are off Speer behind Denver Health. Not too much trouble with the snow because we are between 6th and 8th Aves which are pretty clear. I just keep reminding myself how good the moisture is for my yard and trees. At least it's not like that unexpected storm we got on the 25th. My friend's plane left that night and we had to drive her out to DIA during it. Thank goodness for 4WD.

I know what you meant about the pregnancy weight. My sister always had a hard time with losing it and just as she'd get her weight down, she would get pregnant again. And really works to do it in ten pound increments, that's what I did each time I had to lose weight.
