Hello all,
I started OWL 3 days ago and I have upped my carbs to 25 grams per day. My only problem is I find I'm eating too much food. Here's my yesterday menu for example...

BREAKFAST: 2 eggs scrambled (1.2 carbs)

LUNCH: Shrimp (10 or so)
2 cups of salad w/ full fat ceaser
dressing. (salad 2 net carbs, dressing
0.5 net carbs)
1.5 cups of broccoli (3 net carbs) w/ a
tiny bit of grated sharp cheddar mixed
mixed with a tbs of heavy cream(cheese
and cream about 1 carb)

DINNER: 1 small filet mignon wrapped in a piece
of bacon (1 carb)
2 cups of broccoli (4 net carbs)
tiny amount of same cheese mixture(1
carb)
2 cups of salad (2 net carbs)
ceaser dressing ( 1 carb)

So my problem is that I'm eating really big portions of veggies and STILL not getting enough carbs. 2 cups of broccoli is a lot for me! I feel like I physically can't each more veggies. What do you guys do to up your carbs? What vegies should I eat that are higher in carbs to up my carbs? I've looked for spaghetti squash and I can't find any

Any suggestions?

I added some nice snacks to my plan to up mine. Back when I started OWL, I'd add about an ounce of peanuts one day, and some strawberries the next, and alternate daily. I'd go for almonds now (and I often do) instead of peanuts (less carbs in almonds, more fiber). Strawberries are fairly low-glycemic and have good fiber content, and are a BIG taste treat beginning in OWL.

I frequently made the wife and I strawberry shakes:

1/2 cup slightly frozen strawberries (bagged! no syrup)
1/2 cup heavy cream
2 packets spenda
dash vanilla
1/2 cup ice cubes and water.

Blend the cream, splenda and vanilla in the blender until it sets. (Fight urge to eat it as it is! Add strawberries, ice and water and blend until ice is incorporated. You'll get about 6 or 7 carbs out of that and boy is it yummy!

Oh my...that does sound yummy!!!

I agree with mikeyrat. Nuts and berries will help a lot and they are delicious!

Hmm, could that be the reason you never see fat squirrels?

Information gladly given, but safety requires no unnecessary conversation.
