Yesterday work was so incredibly hectic that I got in at 7 and left at 11pm. All I had all day was green tea and water, when at like 8pm somebody ordered pizza..
and I had a slice.

BUT, that's all I ate ALL DAY. In which case, my daily carb count isn't too bad (30) BUT I'm sure my body is going to get pretty peeved.

Woke up this morning and got right back on the wagon. Had some eggs and veggie patties, etc. Lesson learned: always keep some low carb snacks around!

OOOOOh, I bought a piece of Sbarra mushroom pizza today. Looked so good. Brought it home, cut a smiggen off, microwaved it till the cheese was firm and then just ate the topping without the crust. (kind of a cheat)

They didn't even let you get out for lunch?

Anyway as long as you are back on track, it is good. Even if I don't have anything with me though, and there are vending machines around, I remember that I can just get some penuts for a snack

Wee-

If that is all you had all day and more importantly if you learned to keep low carb snacks around for times like that, you did very well!!

You stopped at ONE slice! Hurray!!!

You jumped right back into the low carb cart!!! Yes!

You know what you need to do to not slide off again!! Whoohoooo!!

I look at your story as a success story, not a failure.

BTW- You posted your no-no to the forum, so you wanted to hold yourself accountable. Good girl!

Peace, Joanna

Man, I had pizza yesterday too, and felt like total crap all night... heartburn... upset stomach... headache, UGH! Not worth it. I was doing so good too... geesh.

Anyway, I got back on track this morning too, eggs and bacon for breakfast and a green pepper on the side for some crunch! I feel ok now and won't be slipping up again.

The thing I try and remember is that a slip up now and then won't kill your WOE as long as you get right back on track, but to be fully involved and dedicated to this WOE I really have to question what I eat and why I am eating. Yesterday I gave in to a long day or running errands and sitting in traffic taking a midterm for grad school (got a 93%)

Oh well.. back on track!!

Mike

I hope you learned to be prepared for situations like this. Bringing some snacks to work as well as full meals is a pain but this situation could have turned disastrous for you if your blood sugar had gotten out of control.

Goldie, who said the eating the toppings was a cheat? Heck no! Most of that stuff is permitted.

I laughed about Mike's saying he had heartburn, etc. from his. I used to eat TONS of pizza KNOWING it was gonna murder me at 2am with the acid reflux etc. Before I called the pizza place, I always checked to contents of the Tums bottle first. Back in those days I always thought it was the sauce and toppings that were causing it. Imagine my surprise to find out it was the CRUST all along! LOL!

Mikey, same here! I never suspected that the crust was the real cause of my heartburn.
