I was at the HFS the other day with my sister (who is also on Atkins but doesn't need to loose very much)and we were each going our own way. I saw her at the other end of the store looking around; she eventually caught up with me, and she said,"You know, I was looking down this aisle and couldn't tell if it was you or not. Your body has changed so much. You just look so different."

Now, I have gained and lost many times before, but I think that on Atkins you really just loose fat. Whereas, on other diets, there is some muscle loss as well. Can this explain it? I don't really exercise (had knee surgery in April and still hurts some), so it's not because of "toning" per se. What do you all think? Anyone else notice this?

You are right on LuLu.

Because this is a very adequate protein program, there is no muscle loss. Indeed, there may be a muscle gain, even without the important exercise component, especially if one has done a number of "crash diets" which almost always deplete everything, including muscle!

Yep, I concur. Have you thought about getting some little handweights from say.....Walmart or Tarszjay? (Target,if you have one) Maybe get some 5lbers and do an upper body program. That will at least get some lean muscle going and help you lose faster (aside from building new muscle which can weigh more)

How affirming that must have been, that was really nice of your sis to notice.
