My sister and bro-in-law (who followed my lead into Atkins) alerted me to the "Sweet Nothings" store not far from where I live.

They've got it all! I finally have a bottle of the fabled DaVinci syrup, and some almond flour, so my husband can revisit some of his favorite "breaded" fish recipes. I also bought some hot cereal and some Cheeters crackers.

Bought the crackers because I've just made the Crab Deviled Egg recipe from Atkins for Life. These taste great--and there's "devil" leftover for celery, or the crackers.

I'm trying to steer clear of sweets and snacks, because they are calorific! But other cooking substitutes and cereals provide fun variety.

I'm glad I can shop locally now.

A Low Carb Foods Store just opened in my neighborhood too! They have all the good stuff including all the sweeteners I couldn't find anywhere else, Diet Rite, and speciality flours! Oh and Keto Ketchup, which I had heard about but never been able to locate in any store. I hope they make it - yesterday they gave me a free pint of low carb ice cream, which is still sitting in my fridge. I'm not sure if I can actually eat that yet in OWL?

That is so awesome...wish there was alittle more variety here in my area...the Guy at GNC tries to keep a wide variety of stiff...but GNC tends to be alittle more expensive..... Walmart is trying...but still not alot there yet.... I work for a chain called Giant Eagle and I keep on them to keep adding more and more LC stuff. They are trying but not alot yet... they have a HUGE health goods and Organics food section..so I figure soon as things catch on alittle more around here they will add more LC stuff to this area. and I sure will keep on them to keep adding MORE!!!

Isn't it exciting to find places that carry LC stuff?? I am finding more and more stuff, even in my mainstream stores.

Have you found O'soLo buns and breads yet? Awesome cinnamon and raisin flavored rollz. I spread cream cheese on mine and made "sugar" and cinnamon to sprinkle on top. HEAVEN!!!!

I am soooooooooo excited, a new LC only store opened up in my area. It's called "Good Carbs" and carries just about EVERYTHING. They are missing a few essentials, but they just opened and are willing to take suggestions fromt their customers. I MAY even hold support group meetings there. I'm so excited about this, you have NO idea!!!! I'm compiling a list of stuff they need to carry, off the top of my head, that would make everyone's shopping trip worthwhile. (like xanthan gum, almond flour, stevia, diet rite soda, etc.)

You all are so lucky..we had 2 health food stores, one went out of business and the other carries high carb things and not a lot of those.. kroger only has a couple of things and our super wal mart is just beginning to bring things in, but they are 25 miles away .. try to go there every 3 weeks...so I am jealous...but have fun...

C, it's out on Randall Road in Geneva. The address is 1881 S. Randall Rd. It's right next to Home Depot. Take 38 (Roosevelt rd.) west to Fabyan Pkwy (left on Fabyan) to Randall. Take a right into Home Depot's parking lot at Bent Tree (there's a light there) and go through HD's entire lot and snake your way throught to the little strip mall next door. It's on the EAST side of Randall. Here's their phone#: 630 208-6561. Their hours are: M-F 10am-7pm
Saturday 9am-6pm
Sunday 11am-4pm

If you're out here visiting the parental units in Wheaton, give it a shot!!!! They are REALLY nice people. If you go in there, tell them I sent you via the website.

You can have a bit of ice cream on owl. I would recomend eating only a little at a time, i.e. one scoop or half cup a week, and seeing how it effects you. I wouldn't have made it past my second month on this woe without an ice cream substitute.

This is such good news! As you guys know, I've been working on opening a store here in South Florida. I've gotten several emails from you guys supporting my idea and offering tips. I'm still investigating sites and looking for investors. My goal is to have one by the end of the summer. Wish me luck! And I'm so glad to hear this is catching on across the country! No more long drives to find LC products! WhooHoo!

Oh, Barb I hope so! It's a little scary, giving up the 401(K) and steady paycheck.
But it's something I've wanted to do for a long time now. And what a great business to own, something I'm passionate about and a business that helps others get and maintain a healthy lifestyle!! I can't wait!!

OH how I wish someone would open up a low carb store in my area!
Someone came into my work the other day telling me about a health food store about 30 miles from me called "Sun Harvest" they said that they have an entire isle full of low carb foods. I think this weekend I will make a trip and check it out and more than likely come out with a basket full of low carb foods and goodies.
Im sure this has been talked about before but I wanted to ask. Does Almond flour taste good to most?? Can you use it like regular flour? Is it really low in carbs? I know I know its in the book, lol

Barb, I think it would be GREAT if you were to hold low carb sessions at the low carb store you were telling us about. I just wished I lived closer so I could attend.

Everyone stay healthy and happy!!

Nicole
