| Strange question, probably. Last night DH took me out to a wonderful dinner for Valentine's Day. We had both planned how to eat there, and for the most part stayed on our WOE. However, when dessert came, I couldn't keep my fork out of the chocolate decadence torte. I had planned to have one mini-bite, but ate nearly the whole thing--probably about 3 oz. The whole dinner, including wine and the torte, was probably about 25-30 carbs, and I had been very good the rest of the day. Nevertheless, I had expected to be out of ketosis, but this morning the stix were still pink. So my question is, if my lapse last night is going to knock me out of ketosis, when should I expect that to occur? |

| Lots of times, if you keep a 'lapse' to a single item (especially if your ketosis is well-established and you have been on-plan the rest of the day/week) you will be able to stay in ketosis. Lots of folks plan indulgences here and there and do fine. Others can't indulge at all because it sets off either physical or psychological cravings and can lead to a binge. I'm somewhere in the middle, depending on what time of the month it is "Do, or do not. | I can go over / off plan now and then and not lose ketosis, usually am dark purple and I drop to light pink, but stay in ketosis, if I indulge two or three times in a week I lose it all together, but only in a really bad week. I have only lost it twice since I got into it good the third week on the program. I was in and out during induction because I really fought to stop eating and finally won in the end of hte second week and it has been smooth sailing since. |
