| I knew that it was Valentines day on saturday, mainly because it's my mothers birthday and also because i've been celebrating it with my boyfriend for the past seven years. However, this year my bf's parents and two sisters were all moving from one borough to another and so our friday and saturday was spent helping them move tons of heavy boxes from one house to another (both on second floors...ugh!). I completly forgot it was Valentines day, i was to busy sweating carry boxes and running around...When we both got home saturday night i ran to take a shower so i can go to bed. While showering i realized it was Valentines day and i had not gotten him anything. I didn't feel that horrible cuse i thought he had forgotten too. Well, when i came out of the bathroom he was sitting on the couch with my gift which he had purchased in advance knowing that he wouldn't have time if he left it for the last minute. I felt so horrible! It's not that i was going to ignore the holiday, i just underestimated the timing of everything. I explained this to him and he told me that he was so greatful that i worked so hard helping his family with the moving and that he was so impressed when i treated everyone to lunch while we were all working hard on saturday ( i didn't think that was a big deal, but he was so greaful). I ended up going to the mall the next day and went on a mini-shopping spree for him which he loves to do for me and i feel better now. On another note, during the whole moving, i did not squint for vegetables, i ate what i could get because i knew that i needed my energy for the heavy box lifting and ended up loosing 1 lb. My menu included potatoes, hershey milk chocolate, corn and regular soda! I feel so lucky that i didn't gain anything and am taking this day off to drink 2 gallons of water...lol Our bodies sometimes work in mysterious ways. Thank you all for reading. | I didn't forget Valentine's Day; I just ran out of time. I planned to run out Saturday morning and get something for my DH and DD, but we had a rare snowfall and I didn't want to risk all the crazy drivers. But my DH had already set up a little gift display in our (mostly unused) dining room on V Day morning. Bless his very understanding heart, he bought me some LC chocolate and roses. I've limited myself to 2 per day. They sure are nice for a taste of chocolate, and luckily don't cause any cravings. He never did get a gift, but after 32 years together, I think he understands.
