| I am in my 3rd month on this woe and have started noticing some changes. I have lost a couple of the benefits of this woe and have no idea why. First I am starting to have cravings again. Mostly for chocolate. I have never been real big on sweets before so I really don't understand this one. Second, this woe really seemed to balance out my mood swings and now I am getting really moody again. Did this happen with any of you. I haven't gone off plan so I don't know of anything that could have triggered this. So far I have escaped the cravings by eating semi - sweet strawberries. Another thing I wanted to ask about is I just started in the last week or so posting my menu on fitday. Although I like doing this I really don't have a clue of where I should be on what. All I know is to keep my carbs between 30-35. I don't know how the other is affecting me. My calories are ranging from 2100 to 2400. The fat percentage is 75% (this seems awful high) Carb % is 4% and protein % is 21%. Is this good? bad? or what? Just need some advise thats all. I have been losing again the last couple of weeks so I am very happy about that. Thanks to all for being there for me. Anita started 11/12/03 396/360/190ish |

| Anita I can't answer why your cravings have returned. Perhaps it's something you introduced into your diet? Are you drinking all the water you should be? I found that my desire for sweets increased a bit on this woe but before this I had almost no sweet tooth. As long as you're losing then don;t worry about any fitday numbers except net carbs. 75% is high normal on this woe. Mine is generally around 60%. As you lose weight you may find your calorie intake is too high but at your present weight 2100-2400 cals doesn't seem excessive to me. So if you need to drop calories at some future date you can just cut out some fats to do that. You are smart to fight the sugar cravings with fruit. That;s what I do. I will even have 3 ounces of apple with an ounce of cheddae cheese as a snack when the desire for sweets attacks. You're losing weight again and doing fine. enjoy it. Rob 310/230/180 Me, a skeptic? | I agree with Rob -did you add some new foods around the time you started getting the cravings and moodiness? Or change brands of something you eat or different type of sweeteners? Check for hidden sugars and fillers. Foods with more than 1-2 grams of sugar alcohols set my cravings off almost immediately. Another suggestion I'd make, if you aren't already doing this, is to careful spread your crabs out during the day and try not to have too many at one time. If you are eating something like fruit, be sure that you're having some kind of fat or protein with it so the impact on your system is slower. HTH LCE member since March 2002 |

| Ooooh, I LOVE Crab!!!! Um, perhaps you need to add more veggies. 4% carbs is REALLY low. This isn't a NO-Carb WOL, it's LOW-carb. Are you eating anything with aspartame in it. Some people find that that triggers sweet cravings AND mood swings. Also, are you eating anything with MSG? That can trigger cravings in people too. Just a thought. This would probably be a good time to mention that I'm dyslexic, huh? ![]() It could have been worse. You have no idea how many times I've typed crap instead of carb, but caught it before anyone saw it. LCE member since March 2002 |

| Don't forget that diet is not the whole story when it comes to cravings. You have a lifetime of habit that is very powerful programming. It takes time to redefine the appetite and the unconsciously held values that drive it.The more practice you have being disciplined, the easier it gets, because the discipline becomes your new habit. |

| Are you near your TOM? This STILL impacts my cravings, although not moodiness so much. Now, I did have caffeine coffee yesterday, and I found myself much more tense than usual. If you are drinking caffeinated beverages, you may want to wean yourself off of those. HTH! Blessings, Cindy "Whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." | I don't know if this explains anything, but I was talking to the owner of our HFS just last week and was telling him how I crave veggies now. He asked how long I have been on LC .. and told him for just over a year now. He said that it don't surprise him because it takes about a year for our cells to reproduce new ones. When the new ones are reproduced you crave what you were eating at the time they were created. Thats how "we are what we eat". So at three months them old cells that are use to "crap" still kick in and say.. hay.. I want more crap! So that could explain a little bit of it. But even after a year, I still get a craving for other stuff...but it has become easier. HTH "No more looking back and saying "what if", now I look forward and see success!" | Maybe posting a couple of days food might help us look at what may be causing those cravings, mood swings, etc. http://www.youravon.com/cnorulak carolyn in texas started 8/11/03 327/287/150 |

| I always like crabs. Felt it was exercise and food combined. By the time I got done, everyone at the table was wearing it. Mary Kay Atkins ~~ 01/02/04-230 ~~ 2/19/04-219 ~~ 3/19/04-??? |
