I went to dinner tonight at my Dad's house for my DH's birthday. I love Dad dearly BUT he is on a low cal. low fat diet. AND he said I made veggies special just for you.
I ate them they were great....then I find out they were made with HONEY and Rice wine vinegar! Then he said he made me a "special" dessert (instead of cake) some sort of butterscotch dish...cuz ya know everyone cheats on birthdays!!!!
AAARRGGGHHH! I did have the will power to skip the dessert! Yeah for me! *dad is a gormet cook that was a difficult thing to skip*
I just had to laugh. I did plan well for the day and if I am lucky I did not go over (I think I may skip getting a total for today unless I get daring later)
I just wonder if he was planning it?
Amy

What is done is done. The important thing now is to get back on plan.

Don't worry too much about it. I had "regular" coke one time last summer, 'cuz the stupida behind the counter mixed our sodas up. I was soooooooooo mad after we figured it out. I had drunk half of it before I realized it tasted "normal." I didn't suffer at all from it. I drank a bunch of water and remained on plan. (unfortunately we had left the place and couldn't make a big deal out of it, what if I had been diabetic, ya know?) So Amy, don't worry too much. We've all had oopses and survived.

Unless your Dad truly understands what low-carb eating means, I doubt it was intentional.

Mine does similar things - he knows we eat Atkins, but he REALLY hasn't a clue what that means except we "don't eat potatoes or drink orange juice" - LOL! He always asks me, "Carrots are good, right? And onions?"

So don't blame him if he's not really up on what it means to be LC! I'm sure he meant well!

As everyone else has said, don't look back, look forward and just keep on keepin' on with it!
