I'm really losing it tonight! I've been at the same weight for over two weeks....and it's driving me BATTY!! I was at the stage of adding carbs, but was terrified to do it. After not seeing any changes, I decided to add them...and still nothing. I'm still showing trace on my ketosticks....drinking all my water, taking supplements, eating when I'm not even hungry because I know I have to. Yet t'nite....I'm so dang frustrated thinking perhaps my body is in starvation mode that I want to cheat to fool it...yet I'll be the fool in the end.

Take a deep breath. OK. Could be that your body is just taking a bit of a break. Could be that you've added something lately that is stalling you, or you aren't eating enough. How about you post a sample menu so we can try to help you.

I know jestey...I've been wracking my brain. I haven't added anything new/different since I've gone out of induction. In fact it's been hard for me to add the new 5 carbs into my day because I'm so full all the time as it is.

Here's a sampling of a typical day for me...

b - Atkins shake or bar (no other choice...I work at 7am, hate mornings and literally am on my feet running at work from 7-10am)

l - mixed greens salad with tomato/cucumber, 1 tbsp ranch dressing and sliced grilled chicken

d - grilled steak, chicken or pork...steamed cauliflower or broccoli...and small salad

s - 4-5 medium strawberries or some peanuts

And I always drink half my weight in water...not hard as busy as I am at work and water tank in office.

Any ideas?

Don't sweat it to much. If you are eating right the body will thank you eventually. Don't get to hung up on the numbers.

You might try changing a specific food or to to see if it affects you. I found I had avoid anything with aspartame in it. Even a piece of gum would stall me.

Hope this helps. Hang in there.

Knowles - you probably already know this, but the bars stall a lot of people. Everything else looks pretty good, but I would ditch the bars. Could you make something the night before for breakfast, like some smoked salmon and cream cheese rollups or hardboiled eggs? Other than that, I think the ol' bod's taking a break.

I started this woe 11/14/03 and find I have a whoosh every 4 weeks. As long as my ketosticks are turning I KNOW I am in fat burning mode so I not stressing about it anymore. You seem to be doing everything you can. Add as much intentional exercise as possible and just enjoy the ride!

Even the morning start ones are not the best. I would recomend using the shakes instead. Shakes don't have the glycerine that the morning start bars have.

ty paladin....I just guess I'm in denial that one bar once a week can create this frustration LOL.

Altho I think I'm gonna lock up my scale...wondering too if maybe because I'm ovulating I might be stuck.

Despite the bars and shakes I think you are due a very large whoosh soon! Just hang in there and wait for it.

Please, ditch the bars and shakes.

Pre-cook yourself a hamburger patty or some chicken to nosh on first thing in the morning.

I can absolutely NOT lose weight -- and will even gain it -- by eating LC "products" like chips, bars, etc....

(hugs)

Blessings!

Sharron I wish I could or that it was easy to do that for me...but it isn't. I've tried, trust me!! Unfortunately most foods make me very sick in the morning...and the shakes are the only thing I've found that don't, or the one bar when I can't take a drink into my morning meeting day. Believe me, wish it could be different!!

It's very hard for me in the mornings due to starting work at 7am, getting up at 5:45 to get myself ready, pack a lunch for me and hubby (who it takes me 30 mins to get his butt outta bed) and get me and the pooch to work. Then I'm nonstop from 7-10, literally not even sitting in those 3 hours.

I'm trying my best to do the right thing...

I had to stop and do the math with paper and pencil, you have lost 28 lbs since january, your body is trying to adjust to this WOE, and is taking a metabolic rest before continuing to lose, you are so lucky! It has taken me almost 3 months to lose 19 lbs.I know too well that we are all different but you are a great role model and yout eating plan looks good to me. Keep up the good work and don't weigh yourself but once per month then you will be very surprised. Rainbow
