before atkins, my cholesterol was 241.. extremely high for a 25 year old. I just got my cholesterol profile back and guess what?

I'm 180!

My LDL, while still on the higher end of being okay, has decreased over 40 points!

And my triglycerides also went down a lot and are 75.

I have to admit, I was truly skeptical of the claims that this WOE lowers your cholesterol.

Now I have renewed zest for this WOL, having met one of my health goals!

No matter how many times you hear people saying it, you never believe it until you get yourself tested. Congratulations! and Thank you for encouraging us all.

Weevilkris,

Do you know what your HDL reading was? That number, in relation to your total cholesterol reading, gives you your risk ratio. Risk ratio is increasingly considered to be the most meaningful factor in the lipid profile.

The numbers you provided look good...how about the rest?

Good job!, i'm curious as to when you started lcing? My sister is 26 and weighs only 125 lbs at most and has your previous cholesterol. She's afraid of trying this wol and doesen't like to read. I like to show her encouraging results so she can get motivated. Thanks for sharing.

Started 3/20/03 thru 9/2003
Restarted 1/2/04, this time i will finish what i started.

Good work! Like Andrea, I'm not surprised. My own lipid profile has continued to improve over the years that I've been eating this way.

My total hasn't changed much over the years, but my last risk ratio was 2.3 (When I started, it was over 5). 'Can't beat that with a stick!
