You know, I'm really not sure what made me do it. I have been embracing the low carb way of life for nine months. I have never felt healthier or looked healthier. I have such joy in my heart, eager to share this WOE with others, so they can also be healthy.
I guess I "got stupid". Made excuses to not eat as I should, then the real kicker was talking myself into doing a low calorie diet instead of maintaining on Atkins!!! (((pounding my head on the desk!!!))) Like my mom would say when I was a little girl and got into mischief, "Crystal, you know better!"...
I've gained so much knowledge on Atkins, that my conscious kept tapping myself on my shoulder and I continued to shrug it off and push it back, saying "Not now... Go away..."...!
This morning, after waking up from what felt like a combination of a hangover and the worst flu, I decided ENOUGH WAS ENOUGH!
So today I am recommitting myself to this way of life. I am upset that I defiled my body, when I knew better. Though I am encouraged that I can get back on that horse . I am also glad I got back on track at 7 lbs instead of 17!
I will go back on induction to get my body back on track. I just needed to VENT... So thank you for listening! I have ALWAYS found this site to be filled with a plethora of friendly, encouraging people with stellar advice - so thank you!

I can sooo understand what you are saying. I lost 45 lbs on Atkins 2 years ago, and for whatever stupid reason, went off and went off deep. Pizza, donuts, spaghetti, hot dogs and hamburger with the bun and FRIES! Needless to say, I gained, I kept telling myself I could eat what I wanted as long as I kept the calories under control, problem was, I couldn't. I gained from 197 to 221 over the course of several months and finally told myself enough was enough. I didn't start on 1/1/04 like I wanted, but I did finally begin again and am having some decent success. I've got 8 lbs to lose to get back to where I was, and then from there I'm on my way to the 130 somethings!

I too came back after gaining about 7 lbs over four months. When i started Atkins i lost 6 lbs in my first two weeks. So when i put the weight back on i thout that in three weeks i wouls be back on track, well i am back to where i started, but i took me six weeks instead. Don't be discouraged if it takes a bit longer. One thing that i did differntly the second time around is that i didn't take water seriously. So drink that water along with the Atkins way and you'll do great...i wish i was 149 right now...i'll go hav a glass of water now, GOOD LUCK!

Started 3/20/03 thru 9/2003
Restarted 1/2/04, this time i will finish what i started.
