O.K. all you veterans...

I hear a lot of talk about stalls here, but what exactly would you consider a stall? Not losing anything in one week, one month? I have had about 2 weeks, not consecutively, since beginning this WOE where I did not go down in pounds. But I didn't consider it a stall because I continue to lose inches.

Should I consider no weight loss at any time a stall? I've given myself a rather long time to get to "goal" (15 months) and even that is negotiable as long as I continue getting smaller and feel so great.

I have tried the Atkins bars (yum!) on occasion, but don't consider them to be giving me a stall. Should I?

I kind of figure that since I am enjoying eating this way and I continue to shrink (little by little) I'm not gonna sweat it.

Sorry so long, I guess maybe I just want some reassurance that my progress is fine.

Thank you!

If you are losing inches but not weight, that means you are losing fat and gaining muscle.

So you are not on a stall. I don't think there is a written rule of how long of not losing inches or weight would classify as a stall, I would guess 3-4 weeks.

I believe I read, and I can't recall where at the moment, 6 consecutive weeks without loss of pounds or inches, despite following plan exactly, constitutes a stall. That seems like a long time, and that is why often, one gets the advice of patience...LOL...along with perseverance...

I've wondered about this question. After induction I would go 4weeks before my whoosh. I didn't consider this a stall because I was losing fat it just wasn't reflected in the scale. I figure as long as I am in ketosis, eating until satisfied, not eating more than a small snack right before bed and increasing my activity everything will continue to be okay.

How many people are in a stall because they are not doing the above? Or are people doing all the right things and just not losing month after month?

The only way to tell (that I can think of; also assuming that you are not knocked out of ketosis or some other obvious sign) is to stop eating them for about a week. See how that effects you.

I think I'm in a lifetime "stall" ten pounds from "goal." By now I'm calling it incentive. It's those elusive ten pounds that keep me on program--figuring that for the rest of my life, I'll have to run as fast I can to stay in one place.

Seriously, the longer I spend on LC, the deeper the commitment and the more I learn about building variety and enjoyment into the plan. Yes, I'd like to achieve what I set out to do in the way of statistics, but somehow, that's no longer the main achievement.

Barb L.

I was just wondering when the last time you were at 130? Do you have more muscle than you did last time you were that 'number' on the scale?

I trying to get an idea of how hard it may be to lose the last bit when I get close.

Just my two cents...

I have noticed something weird this time around... (with working out 5 days a week).

I will go two weeks without losing a pound (might gain a pound). Then I will lose like one to three pounds in a row (about 1 to 1.5 pounds a day) then back to losing nothing for two weeks...it's weird...(but all most like clock work...)
