| I've seen recipies with Italian sausage but whenever i look at our grocery store the italian sausage all has sugar in it and is higher in the carbs. Does any one know of a brand of italian sausage that is lower in carbs? Also what are some good lunch meats that i can buy in a deli as a snack that are lower in carb content? Thanks Katie |

| Welcome to LCE, Katie, glad to have you here. I'm not sure if you have a Trader Joe's or a Whole Foods store, but that would be your best best for the sausage. It's really difficult to find cured or processed meats without sugar...sugar is used for curing, as well as, preserving. The less meat is processed, the lower the carb count. Unfortunately, most processed meats will have carbs. I use pork roast, eye of round or something similar, turkey breast roasted at home all in place of store bought meats. There are times when convenience is the issue, just be careful with ham or turkey breast from the deli. Honey cured anything is going to be much higher in carbs.
