| I have been in teh same place for a month now. 154. or 153.5, depending on the day. Throughout TOM, and a dairy-fast, i have remained the same. Even the inches are stalled. I guess im not really sure what im doing wrong. Basic menu is as follows: Breakfast: a cup or two of coffee with Atkins Bake mix pancakes (3 pancakes) and SF syrup. Lunch: Varies, usually 2 servings of vegetable such as cauliflower, spinach, bok choy, chayote, etc and a protein source (sausage, tofu, or ground beef/turkey) Dinner: also varied, usually a repeat of lunch because i work in the evenings, so a few servings of vegetable and a protein source again. I have been taking a high potency Mineral and Vitamin supplement and fish oil once a day. I drink about 70 oz of water a day as well, give or take 10 oz. Im in ketosis so i know that that cant be the problem. Also, since i work at a grocery store, i sometimes snack on some nuts there, always low carb and no processed food, but usually i have a handful or so of nuts (usually the salted variety). Im wondering what anyone thinks of this, as Im not sure what im doing wrong. It seems that i always make it to 25 carbs, i need to move up to 30 tomorrow so any suggestions would be most appreciated. Ps i also exercise (some) i swim 45 min 3 times a week. Sarah 159/151/135 |

| I've heard some people say that too much bake mix cooking will stall them. I know for me the low carb breads need to be used in moderation. I just had a wonderful breakfast of bacon and eggs but one slice of toasted lc bread. I was real tempted to make a second slice because of my old habit of wanting one slice per egg. But I resisted and didn't really miss it. so I'm thinking pancakes as a habit for breakfast could be a problem for you. I bought the low carb pancake mix one time and made it last for 3 or 4 months. I think almost everyone does better if they get their carbs from high fiber veggies. Not that you can't have the pancakes once in a while. Rob 310/228.5/180 Me, a skeptic? I trust you have proof. |

| thanks rob. I dont actually use it every day, but i would say that every other day is probably more like it. I didnt know if htat would be it, as i use 1/8 cup of mix rather than the 1/4 they ask for. I will try cutting it and see what happens. Sarah 159/151/135 |

| Piperchick, I don't really have any suggestions, but a lot of empathy. I, too, have been in the same place for the last month. I realized I had been slipping off my plan just little each day, not a lot, but probably enough to stop the loss. When I was truthful to myself about what I was eating and compared it to my plan, I saw that a handful (or 2) of nuts or a lowcarb wrap or piece of bread could be part of the problem. This week, I've been trying to follow plan religously and up my water. The scale was down this morning, although not quite to my lowest point. Hey, I think swimming 45 minutes 3x a week is AMAZING exercise, not just a little! Keep it up. Your body may just be taking its time to adjust to its new weight before letting go of any more. | I second what Rob said about the pancake mix, and would like to add a warning about the "salted" nuts. Read those labels carefully, some of those nuts also have sugar added to them in addition to salt. Started Atkins on 9/20/03 235-->185; 150 goal |
