| i just switched to the atkins basic 3 multi vitamins. and this is a little "personal" ... but i notice that my urine is that "vitamin" greenish color, you know what i mean? so does this mean my body doesn't need what i'm excreting? or am i not drinking enough water to distribute all of the vitamins? i take 2 a day, as opposed to the recommended 3. please advise! |

| What my doctor told me was that the body was just getting rid of the extra vitamins not needed. So I'd say you're doing ok. As to water, I drink a gallon or more a day and still have times after taking my vitamins that the color is strong so I don't think water has much to do with it. | yes, deannie - i've heard that too. but i thought my body would be needing everything in the vitamin (since i miss some things on this WOE). also ... i had those horrible cramps in my calves last nite (while sleeping), for the first time in a long time. |

| Not exactly what you're asking, but... I read the other day that if your vitamin doesn't dissolve in 20 - 30 min, you will not get the full effect of the vitamin. To check, drop one of your vitamins into vinegar and see how fast it dissolves. If it's done in 20 min, your vitamin is OK. That being said, if the one's you're taking pass the dissolve test, then I wouldn't worry about what you're excreting. Your body will know what it does and doesn't need. | Neon yellow urine can be caused by B vitamins and beta carotene in your multi vitamins. I get this everytime I take my multi-vitamin until I clear a couple of big glasses of water through my system. Libby 174/142/138 |

| If your calves are cramping or getting "charlie horses" this just means you are lacking potassium. I take a great supplement but there are times when I sweat alot or do alot of exercise and I need to add one for a few days. |

| I found some weak potassium tablets (3% of the RDA) at Walmart. When I start feeling crampy, I just take some of that. I've also been eating spinach at least once every week or two. That seems to help the cramp problem. --------------------------- Cows eat grass. Lions eat meat. Decide which body you want. |
