I'm over 8 weeks now on the LC diet and have reached my goal weight - shed 20 lbs. and am now maintaining that weight very well. I toyed with some oatmeal at the beginning of last week, just because I absolutely love the stuff. McCann's Irish oatmeal is a godsend. Anyway, I'm cooking about 1/4 cup (which is not much) for breakfast with an egg, and then eat veggies, meat, nuts and cheese for the other meals and snacks.

Happy to report that even though I added whole grain oats back into the mix, I feel great and have actually lost 1 more lb. since I first tried it.

Anyone have any good/bad experiences with oatmeal?

No, but I'd really like to know, b/c it's something I'd really like to have and would think the fiber content would be fairly high so the net carbs wouldn't be too bad.

I"d love to add back oatmeal to my diet. I love it in the morning, tho' I've been substituting Maggie's Cereal (see recipes) for it with success. I hope the vets give some input here.

Congrats jwg.

On maintanance, I think that you are allowed to try more things and keep them if they don't cause you to gain weight. It sounds like the oatmeal is going well for you. Just a suggestion, there is a maintanance message board section on this site. You would probably be able to get better answers there (from people who are actually doing maintanance) than from people who are still trying to loose in OWL.

Sneezles, I also eat Maggie s Breakfast Cereal. I have also tried the Keto Oatmeal. I have never tried regular oatmeal before, so I have no idea if it tastes different or not, but I have come to like LC oatmeal and have it for breakfast almost every day. I think it would be a better choice for thoes of us who are still loosing weight.
