| Hi, I am in week 9 and have lost 17lbs. I am losing about a lb./week. My question is this: I have not lost any inches that I can account for in the areas I measure, yet my pants and skirts are practically falling off. Can anyone explain this to me? Why if I can't see any differences in measurements, is the clothing so loose?? HELP Kristin

| Kristin, I began Atkins the same day as you! I too have experienced this same thing. I have not lost more than 2 pounds in the last 2 weeks or more (I think) Yet I can barely keep my pants up. I wonder if our bodies shapes are catching up to our weight loss. Not tha I can think of an actual reason for this to be occuring. I am going to have to wear a belt! |

| Are you measuring the same way every time? Your had to have lost some inches since your pants are loose.

| I'm seeing the same thing. I know the clothes are much looser (jeans don't lie) - but the measuring tape isn't changing numbers (not for the last few weeks anyhow). but I can SEE IT!!! just blows my mind - but it's working. Just nothing tangible

| I guess then that if other people are experiencing the same thing, then I am ok. I do not measure weekly....in fact it is every few weeks and still there has been no change...but the clothes are so loose, I have considered going to buy smaller jeans...or hunting through my closet for a smaller size. | If it makes you feel any better, I've been on since 12/9 and have lost 14 pounds. Some people are just slower losers. Look at the bright side--if you lose it slowly, you won't get saggy skin. It's not a race, anyway. Hope not, because I'm not getting anywhere in a hurry--but I feel better, and that's worth a lot. |

| I had the weirdest thing happen, over the weekend i gained three pounds, (mostly water cuse i ate tons of salty foods) and this morning i had to wear belt a hole tighter...go figure. I've been really bad with measuring my self, lost my tape last summer and haven't bought a new one, keep forgetting.

| Hello Kristin ![]() Are you measuring the same way each time? I pull the tape as tight as I can get it. This may not be a totally accurate gage of my measurements, but I do remember how I did it the last time I am a very slow loser, and I think you are doing great. Hey, if the clothes are loose it does not matter what the tape or scales say. People don't see those Good Luck!
